Re: Lacanfora: Fuller won’t be retained
I think anything other than a franchise tag or contract extension in regards to Fuller is dumb. Bears can't let him on the market, period. They have tons of cap room, stop letting your good players walk out the door. They'll be trying to replace Jeffery for 2-3 more years FFS. Anybody who can go 60...

Re: Bears release LB Jerrell Freeman
I just keep thinking about the 4-5 game stretch in 2016 when he was literally the best player on the team... This departure doesn't leave a hole on the roster but going from a pro-bowler to "Kwiakowski seems OK" is discouraging I wouldn't be surprised if they brought in some competition a...

Re: Bears reportedly declining Sitton’s option
I see keeping Trubisky vertical in his developing stages as priority number one. So I hope they have a plan. If that plan is Gasu, my ability to cheer for this team will be significantly hurt. I am on the fence with Pace. Please get this shit right. They can pencil in Grasu at C and bring in a qual...

Dumping an old player doesn't mean you're drafting a guard in round 1.
I think they have much bigger needs and there are bigger impact positions they should use the pick on. wait till round 2-3-4 to draft a guard.

Re: Free Agency will be better for us this time around
ehhhh, i think WAB hit the nail on the head: With Cohen, he's redundant, and Cohen is a much more compete player. i think Cohen's even a more natural catcher than Austin. I love Cohen, but are we going to line him up on the outside 85% of our offensive snaps? I mean we literally will be converting ...

Re: Free Agency will be better for us this time around
I don't expect them to be too aggressive this year in FA. Next year is more likely as they continue to build through the draft. FA is often fools gold unless you get really good deals. Most the high profile, high money deals rarely work out. There is no point in having 50M of cap space being wasted...

Re: Free Agency will be better for us this time around
Fans view free agency way different than front offices do, I assure you. Free agency to fans is like going to the toy store as a kid with a bunch of gift cards. You can buy whatever you want with money that really isn't yours. For a front office (at least a good one), free agency is meant to supple...

Re: Tag Kyle Fuller?
Pace has to tag Fuller. Above everything he does this offseason, he cannot let this defense regress. The offense may be much improved but with a young QB you are still gonna have growing pains. A top 10 defense or better with a competent offense will provide a much easier path to the playoffs rathe...

Re: Dion Sims - Keep or Cut?
His contract situation shows that he's under contract for the next 2 years at $6M per and it costs us $667K to cut him. On 3/16/18, $4M of his salary is guaranteed. (Free agency starts on 3/14.) He's young though at 26. He played 59% of the snaps, was targeted 29x with 15 receptions for 180 yards a...

What positions do you deem top priorities that you would like to see Pace/Nagy and Co. acquire in the offseason. What positions you'd prefer to be addressed via Free Agency or the Draft? Or just rank'em regardless of FA or the Draft. Feel free to name the players that you would like to see fill tho...

Re: Nick Kwiatkoski... Starter or not?
Kwiatkoski has started on and off at ILB during his first 2 years in the league. He has 2 years left on his very affordable rookie contract and is certainly not going anywhere. Danny Travathan looks like the ILB mainstay going forward. Jerrell Freeman has played great, but has had 2 PED suspensions...

People acting like Jordan Howard is suddenly a liability to this team are off their goddamn rocker I didn't say that. He does have a different skill set compared to Staley, Westbrook, Hunt, Mccoy, or Charles. I would think that would change his roll a bit. He has the ability to work with in the run...

Willie Young has to be on the bubble too. Back loaded contract, marginal production and an injury means $5.4m looks like a lot. Only $900k to cut. Yes, Young is not a great player. But... With basically the fragile Floyd and no other pass rushers on the roster, do you just add that as another guy t...

Re: 2018 Cap Space
I think they should plan to spend on oline, too. Grasu didn't work out. Sitton and Long have health issues. Massie has looked OK and even if we draft an OT I'm good with keeping Massie as depth (or letting the youngster sit and learn while he gets conditioned for the NFL). Considering our cap space...

I hope they don't limit themselves to offensive coaches.
You can be a good NFL coach and specialize on defense but still understand offense and bring in a good OC to handle plays.
