I like the mentality of strengthening the pass defense with the guys they brought in and couple that with saying we are going to make teams 1 dimensional by forcing them to pass. We are still not there though with defending the pass. Makes pass rushers and strong DB's the priority in the first 2 rounds.
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Thought this was interesting, seems Washington might have released him for political rather than performance reasons.

if there's one team owner in the league i'd believe would cut a player because his feelings were hurt, it's dan snyder. ricky's not a future hall of famer, but he wouldnt be on the market now if dan snyder werent a little napolean bitch.Mr.Irrelevant wrote:Thought this was interesting, seems Washington might have released him for political rather than performance reasons.

For someone who really doesn't want Allen, this should be news you'd be dancing reading, if the Bears pick this guy up, it really would lessen the chance they select Allen...DaSuperfan wrote:Yawn.

We had problems in coverage last year, not least because of injuries but even then it was great experience for the guys who will be depth this year (HJQ, leBlanc etc.). With Demps and Amukamara added, hopefully a healthy Trevathan and Floyd's ability in coverage we could have a decent coverage unit.
So...
If we really can get a front three that is really difficult to run on (plus Goldman and Hicks will still get some push in the pass game) then I'm quite excited to see what we can do against offences made one dimensional.

I don't think any of these FA signings lessens the chance of drafting any position. Jenkins or RJF could easily be TC casualties if the Bears drafted Allen.BamaBear09 wrote:For someone who really doesn't want Allen, this should be news you'd be dancing reading, if the Bears pick this guy up, it really would lessen the chance they select Allen...DaSuperfan wrote:Yawn.

Ricky Jean Francois has left for Chicago on for a visit with Seattle. Still chance he signs but obviously Seattle more in play

With Seattle and GB in play, doesn't surprise he shunned the Bears. Fangio and Fox may be high on the coaching lists, but money and a chance to win soon cannot be passed up.

Rashede Hageman was released by the Falcons and is still out there, I believe. First round grade, second round pick. Dudes 6'6". Little tall to be a 3-tech.

Don't we need to ask why the Packers now released him? If it's all politics in Washington, was it the same up north? And if so, why would we need to bring in a locker room lawyer? And if his release in GB was for poor play, then why would we want him? Seems like a losing proposition.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Aside from Hicks wearing himself out with all the post tackle celebrations, out of all the things on this team, the DL isn't something I'm overly worried about.
