I was inspired by a reddit post, and wanted to do a more thorough job and use this community as a hub for that.
The basis is simple: We are going to compile the best all-time 53-man roster, 10-man practice squad, coaching staff, and front office for the dream team Chicago Bears.
This thread will have one primary purpose: Nominations. Here are what I'm wanting.
Your top 5 at every position: QB, HB, FB, WR, TE, LT, LG, C, RG, RT, LE, RE, DT, OLB, MLB, FS, SS, CB, K, P
Patrick Mannelly instantly wins the long-snapper job. That is not up for debate. Devin Hester will be penciled in as KR/PR specialist as well, unless somebody has some insane notion of who would replace him.
I also want your nominations for a dream front office and coaching staff! I'm allowing for flexibility, as in we could have George Halas be Owner, GM, and Head Coach. Coaches CANNOT be players as well, however. Former head coaches and players not worthy of making the all-time roster, however, can be nominated for positional coaches or coordinators.
Let's have some fun!
After a week or so, I'll compile all the responses into a voting period and we'll eventually all vote on who gets cut or delegated to the practice squad, etc. Coaching staff, ownership, and GM will be handled via debate.
What say you?

You've said coaches cannot be players, so I would rather have Ditka as a player. But what do we do with 2-way players? Nominate for just one direction?

Forte might not make the top 5 half backs...
Paxton, Sayers, Nagurski, Grange, McAfee. Forte for the practise squad.
How about McAfee as a returner too?

Think I might go with Buddy Ryan as DC and Toub as ST Coach...Maybe Marinelli as DL Coach but I dig your input.Rockbear99 wrote:Head Coach- George Halas

I like the Idea of Lovie as DC... in that frame, I would also have Rod Marionelli as DL coach. Vince Tobin as DB coach.Rockbear99 wrote:Head Coach- George Halas
