@BradBiggs
#Bears are expected to sign K Mike Nugent with Cairo Santos dealing with a groin injury suffered in pregame Sunday.

Well, the Bears are playing a team this weekend Nugent kicked for 7 years. Maybe he'll kick 8 trillion field goals in a boring, meaningless win.

Santos officially on IR. My guess is they signed him knowing this was a possibility but it gave them option to get first crack at him as the Bears kicker next year.

Welp...

The Cairo Santos era was fun.

Seems like we like him enough to resign him though.

fuck if I where Pace I would not sign a kicker. Force Fox to go for it. Maybe he would find his balls.

Mike Nugent woke up this morning to a huge hangover knowing that by signing with the Bears he can kiss his kicking career goodbye.

that plays right into what was discussed in a different thread - the Bears signing guys straight to IR for efficiency

Yeah, I see him as a good option for next year. He has a chance to be a good long term guy for the Bears.
