I mean, they basically described the process for every NFL team when they pick a head coach.

Every year or two, there's a breakout HC in the league and you get articles like these trying to create some narrative as to how this changes the "head coach hiring handbook".

In reality, every franchise goes through a variation of the same process. You just have to hope your GM has the right instincts, and makes the correct call. Obviously, a big reason Emery only lasted 3 seasons (one of a few big reasons) was his decision to hire Trestman over Bruce Arians. Ugh...

I remember reading an article about how McVay positions his offense, and it was a great read. I can't remember where I read it, so maybe I just made that up.
