I am torn between expecting too much based on the result against the Bengals and accepting the reality the Lions are possibly a playoff team who will roll the Bears

Eh... Lions are kind of screwed in the tie-breaker situation, and they're just not very good. Barely scraped by us and the Bucs. Got pounded by Minny and Baltimore.Boris13c wrote:I am torn between expecting too much based on the result against the Bengals and accepting the reality the Lions are possibly a playoff team who will roll the Bears

They'd have to win out, and have a more than a couple of things fall their way. That loss to ATL with the overturned Tate touchdown, and ten second run-off really screwed them. Those two teams would be in reversed roles right now, with Detroit holding the 6th seed and ATL at 7-6 with tie-breaker problems.
Nothing about Detroit scares me. I am pretty positive we'll (at the least) be right there with them.
I'll also be at the game, so... I'll be sure to rile up a few Lions fans if we dominate again this week. lol
I started hating the Lions when Schwartz was there, and I still haven't quite let it go.

Lions have something to fight for, we don't. Not sure we're going to "dominate" like we did against the testicle-less Bengals.

Looks like the kool aid is flowing. Away game. Bears very inconsistent, so the not so good teams shows up this week.
It will probably be close, because most games are.

I'm expecting another meaningless win, 27-24 or thereabouts

not necessarily ... I'm just trying to figure out the most Bears-y way the rest of the season can play outOtis Day wrote:Looks like the kool aid is flowing.

Normally I would hate winning meaningless games once we have been eliminated from the playoffs... but this is a young roster with a rookie QB that has been busting his ass. They need to get some Ws to validate the effort they have been putting in, I would think.

The bengals win isn't going to tell us much. They're beat and broken just as the Bears are. They mentally and physically checked out of that game in the 3rd quarter. The lions aren't the bengals, they're playing for a playoff spot and I think we all get brought back down to reality.
These meaniless games are a perfect opportunity to keep evaluating the young talent. I want to see a heavy dose of Shaheen.

It's hard to tell what to make of the win against the Bengals, but something tells me the Bears keep the momentum going and roll off a few wins in a row for the first time this season.
Regardless of what we as fans think of the staff, the players continue to play hard for them.

I don't see them going on a winning streak though, they play the lions, browns and Vikings. At this point, the Bears will be lucky to beat the browns.

*SIGH* What the hell do I know. I didn't care last week, and the Bears wiped the field with the Bengals. This is the best logic I can come up with. We beat the Panthers, we beat the Bengals, and we almost beat the Lions the first time, and now we are once again facing a member of the big cat family, so I believe that we have a chance here.

I thought it was fitting that Nugent shanked the extra point against the Bengals in his first efforts as a Bear

The Lions are playing for their playoff lives and they're not as beat up as we are. And we have no pass rush. Matt Stafford against no pressure? Fuggetaboutit. Could be a blowout in Detroit.
I am interested to see Cohen in another turf game, however.

While I would prefer we lose this game for draft purposes, I'm thinking last week was the confidence booster Biscuit needed.

They just needed a last-second field goal to beat TB...Mikefive wrote:The Lions are playing for their playoff lives and they're not as beat up as we are. And we have no pass rush. Matt Stafford against no pressure? Fuggetaboutit. Could be a blowout in Detroit.

Losing here will keep us in a relatively high spot, and help GB miss the playoffs. Go Lions!
I'd be fine with us losing, if it didn't mean that I have to root against our rookie QB...alexwilkins wrote:Losing here will keep us in a relatively high spot, and help GB miss the playoffs. Go Lions!
I have a huge problem with rooting against Trubisky.

Don't think Fox can manufacture a 2 game winning streak 2 times in a season. We already had the Ravens-Panthers back to back wins this year.
