Sources have told Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune that former Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell could be in the mix for a position on Bears HC Matt Nagy’s coaching staff.

Biggs mentions that while Nagy and Bevell have not worked together before, they both have a close relationship with Brad Childress.

As of now, the only position coaching role that is unfilled for the Bears is their QBs coach job. However, Biggs says that it’s possible Nagy could create a new role or title to add another coach to his staff.

The Bears are reportedly in talks with former Raiders OC Todd Downing and Texans QBs coach Pat O’Hara for positions.

Bevell, 48, began his NFL coaching career with the Packers as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2000. He eventually worked his way up to QBs coach before being hired by the Vikings as their offensive coordinator in 2006.

After five years in Minnesota, Bevell signed on with the Seahawks for the 2011 season and spent the past seven years in Seattle before he was recently fired.

In 2017, the Seahawks’ offense was No. 15 in total yards, No. 11 in points scored, No. 23 in yards rushing and No. 14 in passing offense.

I'm not 100% sure Biggs knows anything about half the stuff he writes ... that said, I am pretty much ok at this point with whatever Nagy and Pace come up with to right the Bears ship ... if Nagy thinks Bevell can help, in whatever capacity, so be it

Yes, yes... please

I wanted him as OC, purely for what he has done in the past with QB's.

I never thought he'd take a QB coaching job, but that would be phenomenal.
