Obviously commemorating week 6 of the 2017 regular season, when future hall of famer Mitch Trubisky dominated the Ravens!

Fun fact: The last time the Bears were in the Hall of Fame Game, Rex Grossman broke his ankle.

An extra pre-season game, not really what this injury plagued team needs. Hate this game. Way too early and it is worse than the usual first pre-season game.

I don't think any of the starters should play ... they'll have, what, a 90 man roster at that time? where you have duplicate numbers assigned to a player on offense and a player on defense? play all the duplicate number fringe guys and anyone else who looks to have the proverbial snowball in hell chance of making the roster

Bears played the Dolphins in the HOF game. Grossman broke his ankle in the second preseason game at the Rams.

then Wannstedt ditched them both because Rick Mirer was the apple of his eye ... and all the pieces were in place ... for 4-12 ... in consecutive seasons

I think this is a good thing. It gives us extra practice time and as already mentioned this is a plus for a new coach. I have never seen an analysis that shows this extra game creates more injuries. My thoughts are the opposite; extra conditioning may reduce injuries once the season starts

I *hate* the HOF game and preseason in general. It's a rip for the league pump these up as real games and it's an extra 4 (or 5) games of wear and tear on bodies.

Cut preseason to 2 games or increase rosters. Your doing no one favors besides the owners.

I should've known better not to bring up Grossman's name. Still too soon for Bears fans.

You are totally allowed to talk about Cutler. It's fine. Talk about whatever you want, so long as it's applicable to the thread's subject.

It's on my bucket list to attend the Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremonies. Might make it happen this year and take in the football game. Sure, it's a meaningless preseason game, but tickets would be on the very cheap and could make a long weekend of the trip.

Eh... positives don't outweigh the risk of injury to me. However, at the end of the day, it is pretty irrelevant.
