This if they keep him. 6 mill is a lot for a blocking te and the rumor is they are shopping him for next to nothing.Nanky wrote:We'll find out soon . . . maybe a restructure?

They do love Eric Kush, but they love him most as the seventh active guy on game day because he can play anywhere. It's the same reason why they re-signed Bradley Sowell.wab wrote:By all accounts, the FO loves them some Kush. I’d assume he gets first crack at guard or center. Pending the draft of course.
In a perfect world, Jordan Morgan would show something.
In a realistic world, they'll look for someone when the dust settles — guys like Wesley Johnson, Kevin Pamphile, Joe Looney, maybe Ulrick John or Josh LeRibeus, that sort of player.

Better is relative. However, for reference:
Eric Kush: 18 games played (5 starts)
Wesley Johnson: 41 games played (24 starts)
Kevin Pamphile: 53 games played (33 starts)
Joe Looney: 59 games played (13 starts)
Josh LeRibeus: 44 games played (12 starts)
Eric Kush: 18 games played (5 starts)
Wesley Johnson: 41 games played (24 starts)
Kevin Pamphile: 53 games played (33 starts)
Joe Looney: 59 games played (13 starts)
Josh LeRibeus: 44 games played (12 starts)
This as well.UOK wrote:Their tanktop collections are nowhere near as excellent, surely.

I understand the comment about Sullivan being over 30, but I don't care. They need depth and a starter on the line. Kush has never been a long time starter. Long was consistently injured. There should be worry there. Here are a couple of names.

John Sullivan
Weston Richburgh

He is still under contract for next year, 5th year option. They are supposedly working on an extension.GSH wrote:am i seeing things or have the rams still failed to lock up Donald? i think he'd look great in navy and orange...hows the rams cap space looking?

Seems like we have roughly $25M left in cap space.

Thanks to a video produced by Sports Illustrated, we have some insights into the offers received by cornerback Malcolm Butler before he agreed to sign with the Titans. Early on, the Bears pitched him on a three-year, $30MM deal while the Texans offered a one-year contract (value unknown). It seems that Tennessee greatly outbid the other suitors after signing him to a five-year, $61.25MM deal with $24MM fully guaranteed.

Wonder what the guaranteed was from us...
Not sure if Pace was hoping to undercut with the shorter deal therefore second free agent contract later on. Not sure if that'd sway a 28 year of Butler. Alternatively Pace didn't want to commit long term.
Either way, doubt we'd ever get close to the 3 yr, $36,700,000 the Titans will likely dish out. Oh, and I'm certainly not sure he's better than Amukamara anyway.

In a very surprising move, the Chargers have rescinded their RFA tender on edge rusher Chris McCain. He’s a really good speed rusher who was buried behind Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa. He still registered 5 sacks and 2 FF’s. I would think Ryan Pace might show some interest. Chargers fans are going nuts, he’s their Cameron Meredith.
McCain #2
McCain #3
McCain #4
This move is fucking stupid, cut our 3rd best pass rusher to save 1.9 million dollars of cap space. Dude is an important part of our rotation and just a good human being. What could we possibly gain from this?
What the absolute FUCK Emmanuel and fucking DZUBNAR stay?! Why. Fucking WHY McCain is not only a great impact player but a solid human. Why Telesco...why.
McCain #1Theres gotta be something we dont know or this just looks like a silly decision.

IIRC, McCain was kicked off the Cal football team in 2014 for "conduct detrimental to the team." That was almost four years ago, though, and there's zero indication that he's been any sort of problem child since then.
He's kicked around a bit but has shown a flash or two in his limited playing time.

I've always liked this dude. Kept an eye on him while he was in MIA. He was badly misused there and finally started hitting his stride with the Chargers.

His highlights look a bit like Harold Landry to me.
I was trying to decide why he struggled to stick on a team and noted that the Saints play 4-3 so he was really just going to be a sub package / ST guy for them at best. He makes more sense in a 3-4 where he can be on the field a little bit more.
For me, this is how I'd spend a bunch of my cap dollars - trying to identify the $2m/yr vets who can really contribute in a rotation with stars and rookies. If you end up waiving them and paying $700k then you just live with it IMO. Pace found Unrein and Acho, and now we need our next group of these guys.

I'd like to see more of what McCain does when he's actually touching someone besides the QB.
Hankins looks like he'd be a useful get.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Remember Jon Bostic, our 2nd round draft pick in 2013? He's a free agent now.
JON BOSTIC
LB, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
Steelers released LB Jon Bostic.
Bostic started 14-of-16 games last season but played a modest 561 snaps, splitting time between the middle and weak-side. A pure run-stopper, he had a replacement-level year. Bostic's release comes after the Steelers drafted two inside linebackers, including Devin Bush at No. 10 overall.

Worth mentioning here:
JON BOSTIC
LB, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Colts ILB Jon Bostic has "consistently" worked with the first-team defense at OTAs and minicamp.
Coach Chuck Pagano "raved about" Bostic following Wednesday's minicamp practice. A former second-round pick of the Bears, Bostic has long been an explosive athlete but struggled with technique and fundamentals. On a wide-open Colts inside linebacker depth chart, Bostic could emerge as an IDP sleeper.

Think the Bears might be interested in him again?

Totally not interested in kicking this skewed topic more, but I have to say that it would 100% have zero negative bearing on my FA decisions (if I were a GM).Adipost wrote:He knelt for the National anthem.Hiphopopotamos wrote:Unless something else is going on there - he's a take.
