Fowler, a rotational 3rd/4th/5th receiver for the Broncos, amassed just 58 catches and 733 yards in his three years on the roster. He’s been part of a disappointing group of depth players in the Broncos’ relatively static wide receiver corps
The Broncos’ next QB will need good, reliable weapons, and the Broncos’ decision to part ways with Bennie Fowler is an encouraging step in that direction.

Who?
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

I think he provides competition with a guy like Bellamy. Let them battle it out and the best survives. The problem I have is that if they both make the roster. I'm nervous about our WR depth...Kevin White is currently our number 2/3...that concerns me.

If history is any indication, he won't be 2/3 for very long.cblaz11 wrote:I think he provides competition with a guy like Bellamy. Let them battle it out and the best survives. As has been pointed out - Gabriel and Burton are going to get more targets (and maybe Cohen) than our WR2 likely will.cblaz11 wrote:I think he provides competition with a guy like Bellamy. Hell, our WR2 might look more like a college spread WR2 who’s just there to threaten defenses deep.

I remember he caught a 76 yard bomb vs KC last year in a crazy Sunday night game. 29 REC 350 yards 3 TD's last year and plays good SPT's. He's probably a Joshua Bellamy double. If we're being honest.crueltyabc wrote:Is this guy better than Sammie Coates?? Can anyone tell me??

yup, former undrafted who was good enough at special teams to stick, and who if we give him significant time we'll hate exactly like bellamy.Richie wrote:I remember he caught a 76 yard bomb vs KC last year in a crazy Sunday night game. 29 REC 350 yards 3 TD's last year and plays good SPT's. Right? If Denver wouldn't even tender him.........RING4CHI wrote:Excuse me if I can't contain my excitement.
I'm beginning to believe that Kendall Wright--who signed for $1M with Minny--just wanted to do anything to a team that he was really confident would be a winner. Surely if we're giving $$$ to Bennie Fowler, we would've been willing to toss $1.25M at Kendall Wright, right? Or maybe that's just 20/20 hindsight?
