Tryout guy. I have no idea who this is.

The Bears are signing receiver Marlon Brown, according to his agency. He was at minicamp this week on a tryout.

This was the guy wearing 17, I imagine. Former Bronco, Raven.

Apparently he injured his back during the 2016 season and has been out of football for a year and a half. He’s only 26. I don’t know what the nature of the injury was, but my guess is the Bears are just kicking the tires to see if he has anything left.

I don't think you 'hedge' Kevin White by signing a guy who has had worse injury luck than White. Talented college player (he was a 5 star recruit out of HS) but spent most of his tenure at Georgia injured and tore his ACL as a Senior.
If he's finally healthy maybe he can replicate the success he had the first couple of seasons in Baltimore (73 catches for 773yds & 7td - sounds like, a now, former Bear WR).

I like this signing better than Fowler.
Really though, if the Bears are going to keep 4 TE's on the roster how many WR's will make the team...3?...4?

That probably depends on how many get injured in training camp.ramentaschen wrote:I like this signing better than Fowler.

This is actually a decent depth signing with some upside. I saw a lot of his season with the Ravens, he got pressed into service sooner than he was ready and responded well. Bad luck with injuries are his story, but has some decent room for growth and contribution if healthy.
