Another center that wore #52, Rich Coady. His first year in 1970, he played TE and scored 1 TD. Started the next 3 yrs, every game at C. Pretty talented dude. His first yr he wore #37 (keep that in mind)

Rodenhouser, was at ISU when I was there. I went there for a semester and he was senior. He had friends in the dorm I was in.

With the 4th pick in the 1974 draft the Chicago Bears draft Waymond Bryant out of Tennessee State University. He started 47 of 53 games played for the Bears. He finished his career with 4 ints and 9 fumble recoveries. He had 0 forced fumbles.

In a 2010 article by Bleacher Report he was named to the Bears all time flop team.

8th round pick in 1988. Tate, a safety, would play in 78 games for the Bears over 5 seasons, starting 12. He played 5 more years after leaving the Bears with some moderate success in Indy (started 36 of 50 games)

One of the early Bears I remember, Allan Ellis. A 5th rd pick in 1973. He played 7 yrs for the Bears earning one Pro Bowl appearance in 1977. He had 6 ints that year. He finished his Bears career with 22 ints. He played his last year with the Chargers. He died in 2013 at the age of 62.

Reggie Phillips - 2nd rd pick in 1985 out of SMU. Played in 44 games with the Bears starting 14. Tallied 3 ints with the Bears. had the memorable INT TD return in the Super Bowl. Played 3 ordinary years in Chicago.

Beattie Feathers - played for Chicago from 1934-1937. Running Back out of U of Tennessee.

No one before Beattie Feathers had ever gained 1,000 yards rushing in a season, and no one repeated his feat for another thirteen seasons, until Steve Van Buren of the Philadelphia Eagles gained 1,008 yards in 1947. But he rushed for over 1,000 yards in 1934 and broke a barrier many thought impossible at that time. He was the star halfback on this historic team and was the main reason Coach George Halas moved the famed Red Grange primarily to wide receiver. Hall of Famer Bronko Nagurski said of Beattie: "Watching him run reminded me of watching a jackrabbit in a cornfield with a hound chasing him. He would change his pace and his direction all the time. He also stayed close to his interference. Beattie would stay with you as long as you could do him some good then he'd make his cut and go off on his own. "

Bears leading rusher in 1974 with a scant 475 yards and 2 TDs. Those were some lean years. I thought I was a big fan until 1975, then Sweetness arrived. Grandberry only played one year.

Gotta have this guy. Still the Bears all-time leading WR in yardage. Doesn't say much about the offensive talent that has stuck around here. Hell, Harlan HIll is 2nd!!
