And that would be why I want my QB sliding and not diving into contact. Or preferably passing prior to getting jacked.

the dangers of young QB's feeling they're indestructibleAdipost wrote:Wentz doesn’t know how to protect himself...
on the TD run which ended up as his last play of the day against the Rams, it just looked like a routine dive to the endzone type of play ... no noticeable thing happening to his knees on the play ... maybe he was hurt before that?

His foot bent inward (majority of ACL’s) from the impact of the hit. The fact that his leg was not planted on the ground means that the hit was so hard that it caused a severe whiplash effect.Boris13c wrote:the dangers of young QB's feeling they're indestructibleAdipost wrote:Wentz doesn’t know how to protect himself...

it is confirmed :
Eagles confirm Carson Wentz has torn ACL, will miss rest of season
Eagles confirm Carson Wentz has torn ACL, will miss rest of season
that sucksPhiladelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz has a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of the regular season and the postseason, coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday.
Wentz suffered the injury in Sunday's victory over the Los Angeles Rams and underwent an MRI on Monday morning.
Pederson also confirmed that Nick Foles, who replaced Wentz on Sunday, will be the first-place Eagles' starting quarterback.
Wentz came up limping after absorbing multiple hits on a touchdown run that was negated by a holding penalty in the third quarter. He stayed in the game for the remainder of the drive, which he capped with a fourth-down touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery that gave the Eagles the lead.

Sucks for Wentz and the Eagles. Foles isn't garbage but he definitely doesn't give them the same element that Wentz does.
I think the Saints have to be the favorites for NFC champs now.

I think a lot of QBs would have ran the ball in on that same play. It was a good low hit by the DB. It looked like it hurt. I was wondering initially if it was not a deep thigh bruise.
Wentz has become one of my favorite players in the league at the moment.

Actually it wasn't the last play of the day for him. TD was called back and he finished out the series with a TD pass, with a torn ACL!!Boris13c wrote:the dangers of young QB's feeling they're indestructibleAdipost wrote:Wentz doesn’t know how to protect himself...

Love the kid, sucks for him. Dude needs to learn to pick his spots as it pertains to running and risk.

He’s a fiery QB who is fun to watch. There’s not much to dislike about the kid.
