This has mean there was a serious locker room issue, right?

Sounds more like a way to save $10 mil. He didn't give them much last year.

Ok but why did they wait to waive him?

june 1 allows them to spread cap hit over 2 years
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Exactly. If they didn't like his performance last year, they could have waived him a long time ago (designated as June 1 cut) and spent their savings on a new FA. So why wait until actual June 1?

The only thing I can think is they were like... trying to renegotiate with him up to the June 1 deadline? Or he was a dick in OTAs? Or someone else looked bad in OTAs and they intend to add guys with that additional money?

Maclin has spurts of good to great mixed with periods of being invisible ... someone will likely overpay him for his services

Baltimore restaurant helped lure Jeremy Maclin to Ravens with free food for life
Jeremy Maclin made a big decision on Monday, opting to sign with the Baltimore Ravens over the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills. The wide receiver took a little more than a week to choose his next team after being released by the Chiefs last Friday, visiting both the Ravens and Bills during the process.

Money and fit with the team were likely major factors, but the city of Baltimore did its part to lure Maclin in, too. Jimmy’s Seafood, winner of Bar and Restaurant of the Year awards, offered Maclin free crab cakes for the length of his contract (two years). But after realizing the magnitude of this situation, the restaurant upped the offer to free crab cakes for life.

You drive a hard bargain, Mr. Maclin. We'll up the offer to free crab cakes for life. Now sign already! pic.twitter.com/XVjwjwZhHS

Maclin was well aware of the offer on the table and made that known just minutes after the Ravens announced his signing.

@JimmysSeafood I read what y'all said…I love crab cakes! Lol

CEO of Jimmy’s Seafood, John Minadakis, said the offer isn’t going to take the restauarant out of business because “how many crab cakes can one person eat?”

“You put our crab cakes against Buffalo wings or Philly cheesesteaks, a crab cake is going to win every time,” he said, via ESPN.

I agree with Jimmy's Seafood ... a perfect crab cake beats a cheesesteak or wings any day

A restaurant goes all out for Jeremy Maclin? How long before they're out of business with that model? I could get a Denver restaurant going all out trying to lure Peyton Manning to the Broncos when he was available for example. Didn't realize Maclin was that valuable.
