One of Brandon Marshall’s former teammates does not care about his opinion of the Jets.

Running back Matt Forte was asked about comments Marshall made this month during a radio interview on WFAN where Marshall, who signed with the Giants in March after asking for his release from the Jets, implied the Jets have no chance at winning this year.

“It doesn’t matter,” said Forte, who also played with Marshall in Chicago. “He’s not here. He hasn’t been here the whole offseason. He doesn’t know what chance we have or anyone has. That’s Brandon speaking on Brandon. That’s all I have to say on that part.”

Marshall was asked about the Jets, who have gotten rid of high-priced veterans this offseason and begun a rebuild.

“I just knew I couldn’t be in that environment,” Marshall said. “I think everyone knows the type of personality I am at this point in my career. I wouldn’t have made it through an entire season knowing that we didn’t have a chance. That’s all you want as a player. You just want a chance.”

Many of the Jets feel that this year’s locker room is a better place than it was last year. Only Sheldon Richardson has pointed specifically to Marshall as being one of the problems last year, but it is clear that Marshall was at the center of some of the locker room issues.

Forte said the Jets have gotten rid of some of the players who did not respond well to adversity last year.

“Any season like that there’s going to be people who do that,” Forte said. “That’s a good thing in a way because it shows you who that person is and you can get rid of him. It’s good for the young guys to have experienced something like that because they know that once you go through a season like that you don’t ever want to do that again.”

Every team that he has been on, in one form or another, didn't want him around anymore. That's telling.

I don't want to harp on his 0 career playoff games... but it makes you think.

I think Marshall is still suffering from bouts of mental instability/disability ... he has been pretty honest about his issues but is perhaps not willing to admit he doesn't have it as under control as he thinks

he has awesome physical skill, but his head is simply not always in the game ... and maybe his additional goal of being a tv star is only adding to his mental focus issues ... has too much going on and is short circuiting

One of the biggest symptoms of borderline personality disorder (which is what Marshall suffers from) is a complete lack of accountability or self-awareness. They have a tendency to believe that they do no wrong, while everyone and everything around them is the basis of their problems. They also can be pretty erratic.

It's one of the primary reasons Marshall wears out his welcome everywhere. When stuff starts going wrong, it's the fault of everyone else. He literally is unable to include himself in the collective.

Sheldon Richardson says Brandon Marshall “quit” on the Jets last season

Richardson reiterated Monday that he was glad Marshall was gone.

“That whole situation was sticky because we were losing, and then you’re doing little things that are drama queen-ish, and he’s dogging out this guy and that guy,” Richardson said. “It’s everybody’s fault except for his. . . . No one wanted to say something to him. Then I say something to him, the criminal, the bad guy, and the media just ran with it.”

I loved him when he was "on" but BM was sure one of those guys that is great when everything is rolling good and throws you under the bus when shit goes south.

BPD or whatever, he is a douche, and slowly everyone is figuring out that he really never changed.

Sadly, its pretty obvious now that Brandon is a real ripe piece of work when his inner asshole starts coming out. I've had to deal with similar shit myself - maybe that's why I was a big fan of his and was really pulling for him as a Bear. :|
