Fifth, actually.RustyTrubisky wrote:Our fourth string ilb not going on IR qualifies as great news around here.
1. Freeman
2. Travathan
3. Kwiatkoski
4. Jones
But he's one of my favorite players. I wish I knew that he'd be around for 5 more years. I might get a jersey.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

No, he's not 5th string....Freeman and Trevathan are both 1st string.
But I like Timu as well. He's a playmaker. He tackles better than any of our LB's and he seems to have a nose for the ball. Pass coverage? Well that's another subject altogether, but he's getting better.
Christian Jones looked real good as well....finally. He's typically invisible out there, but not last Monday. He looked like a badass.

Timu brings more than his abilities as it was painfully obvious once he was out of the game that they couldn't get freaking lined up and were gashed in the run game up the middle.

Jesus, the injuries keep coming.
So next week Trevathian and Jones will be out there?
Any latest info on Kwiatkowski to return?

Yeah I mentioned that in chat the other week. I was watching the Colts on the laptop and Bears on TV. The announcers were saying he was one of their defensive leaders. Funny how things work out for one team, but don't for another.RING4CHI wrote:I just realized Jonathan Bostic is one of the leading tacklers in the NFL.
If that isn't salt in the wound.
I didn't even realize he was still in the league until now!Rakshir wrote:Yeah I mentioned that in chat the other week. I was watching the Colts on the laptop and Bears on TV. Oof, I had no idea about this either.
I heard that Houston signed with someone but I'm ok with that.

I'm going off PFF but they do have him graded really poorly this season.RING4CHI wrote:I just realized Jonathan Bostic is one of the leading tacklers in the NFL.

No, he's one of the starting ILB's.RustyTrubisky wrote:I assume they're a bunch of special teams tackles?
I guess he sucked like Greg Olsen sucked.

Not surprising. A lot of tackles doesn't always equal good play. Usually it means as a defender, you're on the field a fuck ton.malk wrote:I'm going off PFF but they do have him graded really poorly this season.RING4CHI wrote:I just realized Jonathan Bostic is one of the leading tacklers in the NFL.

Yeah, I'm not sure being the leading tackler on a defense that ranks 31st in the league on yards per game, 30th in yards per play and 32nd in points allowed per game is necessarily evidence of Bostic suddenly becoming a decent player.
In his second and final season in Chicago Bostic finished second on the team in tackles. It hardly meant he excelled!
