Ducked out of the way, so as to not cause pass interference and give the Vikes a free play on a defensive penalty

He could have waited for the WR to land, wrap up, make sure he keeps him in bounds..................game over. One of the poorest plays ever.

I'll take option #3, dumbass alert on the field. The only thing that they couldn't allow to happen, they allowed to happen.

I didn't see any intellectual calculus there. He misjudged the timing of the tackle and screwed up. Everybody likes to blame "that guy", but the Saints defense was loose that whole drive. Yeah ultimately Williams owns this for blowing the tackle though.

It's why you don't lower your head while tackling. He missed him by about a yard after lowered his head.

ding ding ding

the replay of that should be a required training video of what NOT to do ... he keeps his head up, and just wraps the receiver up, game over ... instead he lowers his head and stupidly throws himself in the general direction of where he thinks the receiver should be ... as a bonus stupid cookie, the only thing he hits is a team mate who was the only other Saint in the area

Also props for whoever posted the gif of the show thrower.
