@RapSheet
The #Vikings are in the driver’s seat for free agent QB Kirk Cousins. They offered him a 3-year, $28M per year deal. It is not over. But if the visit goes well, he is likely to sign there.

Kirk Cousins plans to sign a three-year, fully-guaranteed contract from the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, sources tell ESPN.

Your post says it's 3 years, $28M (not per year). He knew what you meantUOK wrote:3 years, $28M, fully guaranteed. That's gonna change things for the market.
As it relates to Cousins and the Vikings - I hope he sucks.

Is there a better division for QBs now?
Shee-it.

A contract of 3 years...where the WHOLE thing is fully guarantee is insane to me.
Think about this...2 days after he signs and something happens where he cant play anymore.....the Queens are stuck with 28m of dead cap space for 3 years? How much is left for any serviceable backup?
Seems like Cousin and his agent knew the Queens burned their bridges with their 3 QBs and took advantage of that.
Personally I would have franchised Keenum for 1 year and played that out.

That's just batshit crazy.
I have to root for him to get injured, so that the Vikings are in cap hell, before this kind of insanity catches on and ruins the game.

I think Cousins is definitely an upgrade for them, but that is a lot of coin ... and guaranteed
and you just know others are going to use this deal as a template for their new one
but, what we normal folks see as an astounding amount of cash, the league and players seem to view as Monopoly money ... so I guess we shouldn't be surprised by any new contract details regardless of how over the top we may think they are

It's about time. Baseball players money is always guaranteed, football players more prone to career ending injuries.BR0D1E86 wrote:I'll be honest. I never thought I'd see a team fully guarantee anything like this.
Rodgers
Cousins
Stafford
Trubs
Some QB talent in the division.
