Yes they do. I thought the same thing. It's a good class. The track though seems faster.Moriarty wrote:I haven't looked closely, but don't times seem kind of fast across the board?
Some of the OL stuff was nuts.

Holton Hill just put up a 4.5 and a 4.54. Decent times for a long physical corner like Hill.

*Edit, I read his height wrong. I thought it was 5'10 and 1/8. It's 5'10 and 7/8...so yeah, basically 5'11

I'm growing a huge erection for Saquon Barkley. I know the Bears won't draft him, nor should he be on the board by the 8th pick, but if they didn't have a 1-2 of Howard/Joystick, I'd campaign very hard for Barkley.

Then the Colts get a billion picks trading back and still end up with Chubb or Roquan Smith.

The league is due a bust at running back...

Watching more Josh Jackson tape and starting to hate his tackling. He's very content to just push a guy toward the sideline or dive at his legs. His ball skills are amazing but after watching guys like Peanut at CB for so long I get really picky about CBs tackling in the open field and in run support.
Meanwhile Ward looks small out there, even against college guys. He's buzzing around the WR like a hornet but I worry about his physicality, too.
Both should be good NFL players and maybe they aren't liabilities out there for the tackling issue but it makes me less excited about them at #8. I'm saying this in basically every thread now I guess: at #8 I want to love the guy.

I'd be upset at Jeremiah's mock. Pass on Nelson and Edmunds for Ward?

I'm not down on Edmunds as he would fill a huge gap at MLB if he can't rush the passer, but if he were billed as strictly an edge rusher I'd be having Barkevious Mingo flashbacks (he's also a FA after "doing pretty good" on his 3rd team).DaSuperfan wrote:I'd be upset at Jeremiah's mock. I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Random thought on edge rush prospects in this draft: I'm going to continue to say it, I think Harold Landry as a 34 OLB/Edge rusher is going to be a steal for someone in R1. I know his 2017 tape isn't as impressive as 2016, but that was honestly in large part due to his ankle injury which has fully healed since.
He reminds me of a Vic Beasley type, by his size (6'3 250), his ability to bend with his dip and rip move and his speed -
I have a feeling he's going to be an excellent pass rusher at the next level IMO. I know he's considered a reach at 8, but quite honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to trading down a few spots, picking up an extra pick and taking him to pair with Floyd.
I really like Edmunds a lot, but the fact that he hasn't actually been a pass rusher in college just means he's got a lot of work to do in that department which worries me a bit. I think he's ultimately an ILB only at the pro level and he'll be a darn good one. I'm not going to be mad if Edmunds ends up being the pick, I just think he'll end up being an ILB vs. an edge rusher.
But if you want an edge rusher in this draft, I think Landry is by far one of the most underrated pass rushers in this class. I wouldn't overlook him.

I think Pace must really like the EDGE rushers in this defense, especially if you look at the lack of talent we currently have.DaSuperfan wrote:Random thought on edge rush prospects in this draft: I'm going to continue to say it, I think Harold Landry as a 34 OLB/Edge rusher is going to be a steal for someone in R1. I'd venture a guess that at #8 he thinks one of Chubb/Edmunds/Landry should be there. I wouldn't be shocked if he went EDGE at #8 and #39, depending on how FA shakes out.

Edmunds at 8 and another at 39 would be pretty nice when I think about it. Particularly if Edmunds can continue to play some inside.

I don’t know if I like Landry that high, but it’s clear to me that 8 needs to be a pass rusher. If they get WRs and a corner in FA then pass rusher at 8 and 5T at 39 is my preference.
Edmunds/Taven Bryan would look good as the Bears 1-2 picks.

I've had this feeling since watching Edmunds film that Pace was going to get him, even if Nelson's there at 8. Not only that, I believe Pace is prepared to trade up a spot or two to get him. But this is based on nothing other than my own gut.

Yeah, it's weird. I was looking at pass rusher highlights and came across Edmunds and though, man...this really looks like a Pace guy. At first I was hoping that the Bears could sneak him in with their second round pick, but figured his name would start gaining steam. I'd be perfectly happy with him at 8. He and Nelson have been my guys since the beginning.UOK wrote:I've had this feeling since watching Edmunds film that Pace was going to get him, even if Nelson's there at 8. Davenport would be my fallback I guess if Edmunds is gone.
Vita Vea is someone that is worth keeping an eye on at #8 too. Not my favorite pick, but that dude is just not of this earth.

Bullard has been ... nothing. He flashed a bit in last preseason, but he's not a playmaker. Nor is he awful. He's middling and unexceptional to the point where he fades into the background. His name is never called for good or bad. He exists in a gaseous medium of football nothingness.
