I mean, whatever. This draft is going to be weird. I gave up trying to figure it out...but here's a mock draft anyway.

Round 1
1. Cleveland : Baker Mayfield - QB - Oklahoma
I don’t know, and I no longer care. From a scheme/philosophy standpoint, Mayfield is the best fit.

2. New York Giants : Bradley Chubb - DE - NC State
Maybe it’s Darnold, but my money is on the DE.

3. New York Jets f/ Indianapolis : Sam Darnold - QB - USC
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Jets try to move up to #1, but here they get Darnoild.

4. Cleveland f/ Houston : Saquon Barkley - RB - Penn St.
Mayfield is the future, Barkley is the present.

5. Buffalo f/ Denver : Josh Allen - QB - Wyoming
Buffalo moves up for an overrated QB and still gets to keep their second first round pick. But he can throw through the wind!

6. Indianapolis f/ New York Jets : Quenton Nelson - OL - Notre Dame
Keeping Andrew Luck alive is of the utmost importance.

7. Tampa Bay : Derwin James - DB - Florida St.
James is a perfect fit for Tampa Bay.

8. Miami f/ Chicago : Roquan Smith - LB - Georgia
“It’s gotta be for Rosen!” the pundits will scream. The pundits will be wrong.

9. San Francisco : Minkah Fitzpatrick - DB - Alabama
Fitz can play FS for a bit before replacing Richard Sherman about 9 minutes into the season.

10. Oakland : Vita Vea - DT - Washington
Vea is a beast that will free up Mack and Irvin.

11. Chicago f/ Miami : Tremaine Edmunds - LB - Va. Tech
I go back and forth on this guy. He's insanely talented but he's a complete projection. I feel better about him being the pick if the Bears trade down and get say...a 3rd and a 7th. I don’t know where he plays (my hunch says they try him outside), and I don’t know if he’s good (my hunch says he'll disappoint a lot of fans early on), but it will certainly be fun to watch (my hunch says some people won't agree).

12. Denver f/ Buffalo (Cincinatti) : Derrius Guice - RB - LSU
First surprise of the draft, kinda. Guice over Rosen? Yes.

13. Washington : James Daniels - OL - Iowa
Thus begins the “They have to be looking at Rosen right?” and the camera panning to a sweating Rosen every three seconds. Meanwhile the Redskins take the best center in the draft.

14. Green Bay : Denzel Ward - CB - Ohio St.
Ward shouldn’t be here, but he is so of course the Packers will take him.

15. Arizona : Josh Rosen - QB - UCLA
Finally.

16. Baltimore : Mike McGlinchey - OT - Notre Dame
Best run blocker in the draft, should start right away at RT in Baltimore.

17. Los Angeles Chargers : Da'Ron Payne - DT - Alabama
Corey Leguit just signed an extension, but putting Payne next to him would be insane.

18. Seattle : Isaiah Oliver - CB - Colorado
One of my favorite players in the draft, he helps ease the loss of…well everyone.

19. Dallas : Leighton Vander Esch - LB - Boise St.
The next Brian Urlacher? That’s what people are saying…except for that pesky cervical issue.

20. Detroit : Marcus Davenport - DE - UTSA
He’s being compared to Chandler Jones. Their new coach is very familiar with Chandler Jones.

21. Cincinnati f/ Buffalo : Lamar Jackson - QB - Louisville
Ooooohhhh Andy Dalton is gonna be pissed. Screw Andy Dalton.

22. Buffalo (Kansas City) : Jaire Alexander - CB - Louisville
Buffalo gets a steal after reaching earlier.

23. New England f/ Los Angeles Rams : Calvin Ridley - WR - Alabama
Speaking of steals…

24. Carolina : Isaiah Wynn - OL - Georgia
He’s got a bad labrum, but he should be ready by camp.

25. Tennessee : Courtland Sutton - WR - Southern Methodist
Corey Davis didn’t do much last year, and they don’t have much else. Sutton is a red-zone menace.

26. Atlanta : Maurice Hurst - DT - Michigan
I don’t get the hype around Hurst, but he’s versatile and that’s a plus in this defense.

27. New Orleans : Josh Jackson - CB - Iowa
If Jackson is more like the guy on film and less like the guy at the Combine, the Saints could have the best corners in the NFL.

28. Pittsburgh : Mike Gesicki - TE - Penn St.
Heath Miller seems like a long time ago.

29. Jacksonville : Dallas Goedert - TE - S. Dak. St.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins is…um…ok?

30. Minnesota : Anthony Miller - WR - Memphis
Anthony Miller > Kendall Wright.

31. New England : Mason Rudolph - QB - Oklahoma St.
The Heir Apparent to Brady. Unless Brady keeps playing and they have to trade Rudolph the way they do all their backup QB’s. FWIW I think Rudolph is the 2nd best QB in the draft…and better than Josh Allen.

32. Philadelphia : Tyrell Crosby - OT - Oregon
Tough call, they don’t have a lot of needs. OL, DB, LB top the list.

Round 2
33. Cleveland : Connor Williams - OT - Texas
34. New York Giants : Harold Landry - LB - Boston College
35. Cleveland f/ Houston : Harrison Phillips - DT - Stanford
36. Indianapolis : Ronald Jones II - RB - USC
37. Indianapolis f/ New York Jets : Kolton Miller - OT - UCLA
38. Tampa Bay : Sony Michel - RB - Georgia

39. Chicago : Taven Bryan - DT - Florida
I’ve made no secrets about my love for Bryan. I think the JJ Watt comparisons are unfair, but the Justin Smith ones aren’t.

40. Denver : Will Hernandez - OL - UTEP
41. Oakland : Darius Leonard - LB - S.C. State
42. Miami : Nick Chubb - RB - Georgia
43. New England f/ San Francisco : Brian O'Neill - OT - Pittsburgh
44. Washington : Justin Reid - S - Stanford
45. Green Bay : Michael Gallup - WR - Colorado St.
46. Cincinnati : Orlando Brown - OT - Oklahoma
47. Arizona : Ronnie Harrison - S - Alabama
48. Los Angeles Chargers : Braden Smith - OT - Auburn
49. Indianapolis f/ New York Jets (Seattle) : Carlton Davis - CB - Auburn
50. Dallas : Christian Kirk - WR - Texas A&M
51. Detroit : Rashaan Evans - LB - Alabama
52. Baltimore : Mark Andrews - TE - Oklahoma
53. Denver f/ Buffalo : Tim Settle - DT - Va. Tech
54. Kansas City : Malik Jefferson - LB - Texas
55. Carolina : Holton Hill - CB - Texas
56. Buffalo f/ Los Angeles Rams : James Washington - WR - Oklahoma St.
57. Tennessee : Josh Sweat - LB - Florida St.
58. Atlanta : Lorenzo Carter - DE - Georgia
59. San Francisco f/ New Orleans : D.J. Moore - WR - Maryland
60. Pittsburgh : DeShon Elliott - S - Texas
61. Jacksonville : Chukwuma Okorafor - OT - W. Michigan
62. Minnesota : Martinas Rankin - OL - Miss. State
63. New England : Sam Hubbard - DE - Ohio St.
64. Cleveland f/ Philadelphia : Mike Hughes - CB - UCF

Round 3
65. Denver f/ Buffalo (Cleveland) : Hayden Hurst - TE - S. Carolina
66. New York Giants : Marcell Ateman - WR - Oklahoma St.
67. Indianapolis : Cedrick Wilson - WR - Boise St.
68. Houston : Jamarco Jones - OT - Ohio St.
69. New York Giants f/ Tampa Bay : Bradley Bozeman - OL - Alabama
70. San Francisco f/ Chicago : Shaquem Griffin - LB - UCF
71. Buffalo f/ Denver : RJ McIntosh - DT - Miami (Fla.)
72. New York Jets : Rashaad Penny - RB - San Diego St

73. Chicago f/ Miami : Billy Price - OL - Ohio St.
Generally speaking, there is no way he should be here but with his shoulder, it’s entirely possible. Remember, Jonathan Bullard wasn’t supposed to be available in the 3rd round either.

74. San Francisco : Kerryon Johnson - RB - Auburn
75. Oakland : Kameron Kelly - CB - San Diego St
76. Green Bay : Uchenna Nwosu - LB - USC
77. Cincinnati : Donte Jackson - CB - LSU
78. Kansas City f/ Washington : M.J. Stewart - CB - N. Carolina
79. Arizona : Jaleel Scott - WR - New Mex. St.
80. Houston f/ Seattle : Greg Stroman - CB - Va. Tech
81. Dallas : P.J. Hall - DT - Sam Houston
82. Detroit : Frank Ragnow - OL - Arkansas
83. Baltimore : D.J. Reed - CB - Kansas St.
84. Los Angeles Chargers : Mike White - QB - Western Ky.
85. Carolina f/ Buffalo : Duke Ejiofor - DE - Wake Forest
86. Kansas City : Kyzir White - S - W. Virginia
87. Los Angeles Rams : Arden Key - LB - LSU
88. Carolina : D.J. Chark - WR - LSU
89. Tennessee : Kalen Ballage - RB - Arizona St.
90. Atlanta : Quenton Meeks - CB - Stanford
91. New Orleans : Kyle Lauletta - QB - Richmond
92. Pittsburgh : Rasheem Green - DE - USC
93. Jacksonville : Levi Wallace - CB - Alabama
94. Minnesota : Dorance Armstrong Jr. - DE - Kansas
95. New England : Royce Freeman - RB - Oregon
96. Buffalo f/ Philadelphia : Dorian O'Daniel - LB - Clemson
97. Arizona (comp) : Wyatt Teller - OL - Va. Tech
98. Houston (comp) : B.J. Hill - DT - NC State
99. Denver (comp) : JC Jackson - CB - Maryland
100. Cincinnati (comp) : Nathan Shepherd - DT - Fort Hays State

Round 4
101. Green Bay f/ Cleveland : Quin Blanding - S - Virginia
102. Tampa Bay f/ New York Giants : Duke Dawson - CB - Florida
103. Houston : Ian Thomas - TE - Indiana
104. Indianapolis : Tyquan Lewis - DE - Ohio St.

105. Chicago : DaeSean Hamilton - WR - Penn St.
The Bears go back to the Penn State well and get some insurance for Kevin White. Hamilton is a damn good player, and an even better guy.

106. Denver : Dante Pettis - WR - Washington
107. New York Jets : Isaac Yiadom - CB - Boston College
108. New York Giants f/ Tampa Bay : Hercules Mata'afa - LB - Wash. State
109. Denver f/ San Francisco : Michael Dickson - P - Texas
110. Oakland : Trevon Young - DE - Louisville
111. Los Angeles Rams f/ Miami : Desmond Harrison - OT - West Georgia
112. Cincinnati : Equanimeous St. Brown - WR - Notre Dame
113. Washington : Kemoko Turay - LB - Rutgers
114. Cleveland f/ Green Bay : Justin Lawler - DE - Southern Methodist

115. Chicago Bears f/ Arizona : Marquis Haynes - LB - Ole Miss
Haynes is a bit of a project, but gives the Bears an excellent blitzer that could eventually take over for Trevatha
n.

116. Dallas : Will Richardson - OT - NC State
117. Detroit : Tarvarus McFadden - CB - Florida St.
118. Baltimore : Davin Bellamy - LB - Georgia
119. Los Angeles Chargers : Simmie Cobbs Jr. - WR - Indiana
120. Seattle : Tarvarius Moore - CB - Southern Mississippi
121. Buffalo : Auden Tate - WR - Florida St.
122. Kansas City : Brandon Parker - OT - N.C. A&T
123. Miami f/ Cleveland (Carolina) : Logan Woodside - QB - Toledo
124. Kansas City f/ Los Angeles Rams : Fred Warner - LB - BYU
125. Tennessee : Jordan Whitehead - S - Pittsburgh
126. Atlanta : Will Clapp - OL - LSU
127. New Orleans : Jalyn Holmes - DE - Ohio St.
128. San Francisco f/ Pittsburgh : Derrick Nnadi - DT - Florida St.
129. Jacksonville : Tre'Quan Smith - WR - UCF
130. Philadelphia f/ Minnesota : Poona Ford - DT - Texas
131. Miami f/ New England (Philadelphia) : Jeff Holland - DE - Auburn
132. Philadelphia : Tony Brown - CB - Alabama
133. Green Bay (comp) : Trenton Thompson - DT - Georgia
134. Arizona (comp) : Kylie Fitts - DE - Utah
135. Los Angeles Rams f/ New York Giants (comp) : Da'Shawn Hand - DE - Alabama
136. New England (comp) : Brian Allen - OL - Michigan St.
137. Dallas (comp) : Chad Thomas - DE - Miami (Fla.)

Round 5
138. Green Bay f/ Cleveland : Josey Jewell - LB - Iowa
139. New York Giants : Brandon Facyson - CB - Va. Tech
140. Indianapolis : Deon Cain - WR - Clemson
141. Seattle f/ Houston : Antonio Callaway - WR - Florida
142. Denver : Andrew Brown - DT - Virginia
143. San Francisco f/ New York Jets : Deontay Burnett - WR - USC
144. Tampa Bay : Geron Christian - OT - Louisville

145. Chicago : Alex Cappa - OT - Humboldt State
Sort of a lazy pick, because a lot of Bears mocks have him in this range. But I think he could step in for Massie down the road.

146. Seattle f/ Oakland : Ade Aruna - DE - Tulane
147. New Orleans f/ Miami : Scott Quessenberry - OL - UCLA
148. Pittsburgh f/ San Francisco : Bo Scarbrough - RB - Alabama
149. Washington : Kevin Toliver II - CB - LSU

173. Dallas (comp) : D'Montre Wade - CB - Murray St.
174. Green Bay (comp) : David Wells - TE - San Diego St

Round 6

176. Los Angeles Rams f/ New York Giants : Kendrick Norton - DT - Miami (Fla.)
177. Houston : Matthew Thomas - LB - Florida St.
178. Indianapolis : Eddy Pineiro - K - Florida
179. New York Jets : Oren Burks - LB - Vanderbilt
180. Tampa Bay : Deadrin Senat - DT - So. Florida

181. Chicago : Justin Crawford - RB - W. Virginia
I don’t know if there’s anything to the Jordan Howard stuff, but regardless…Crawford is an excellent fit in this offense.

I know Mitch is the future, but this seems like a good time to get a young talented backup into the system.

226. Denver : Damon Webb - S - Ohio St.
227. Seattle f/ New York Jets : Andre Smith - LB - N. Carolina

228. Chicago f/ Miami (San Francisco) : Davontae Harris - CB - Illinois St.
Withe the extra 7th round pick, the Bears score a local guy who is extremely underrated

Gonna be tough to envision edge rusher not addressed, unless you're projecting Edmunds to be an OLB? You mentioned Haynes taking over for Trevathan - therefore this draft we come away with 2 ILB's and no edge rushers? Wasn't sure - if yes, then I would be a little disappointed. I do like the Bryan and Price picks in R2 and R3, though. I also wouldn't mind the trade with the Phins since I think Smith isn't a great fit in a 3-4 scheme where he has to continually take on blocks from interior lineman. I see him more as a WLB in a 4-3 in the NFL due to his size and lack of length.

I have been thinking the Miami to 8 trade also, and for the same player. Laugh, the Boise St LB talk seems like a ruse.

Really like Harris, Haynes, picks later, and love the first 2. If Price is there it's an easy pick.

I’m project him outside in this situation.

I’d prefer EDGE Kemoko Turay in the 4th in place of Marquis Haynes since you already drafted Edmunds.

Would be a good draft overall. I think I’d rather take a shot at Davenport in that situation. I am no draft expert, but I keep hearing questions about Edmunds’s instincts. Has be a bit nervous about him.

This draft would make puppies cry.

Just not my cup of tea - Edmunds/Bryan are two high bust potential guys and I just wouldn’t be comfortable spending the only two top 100 picks we have on them.
Holy Shit - We got Justin Fields!

In my former life I was known as FencikFanatic.

Oh, and if you were wondering - yes I'm real. And I'm fantastic.

Did you stop after the first two picks?

Vea being picked right before us hurts, but if it also means Nelson is gone too then I'll take it. Bryan in round 2 helps offset that.

I like the trade down concept given that Edmunds was there and so was Davenport. OL in round 3 makes sense. We need the players there.

No. I think Billy Price is more likely to go in the first than he is to drop past the first 10 picks in the second. So while that would be a spectacular pick - I just can't see a way he drops outside of him being medical red-flagged on every team's board. And if thats the case - do we want him?

Hamilton is a good route runner with nice size but I don't think he's unique.

The only other prospect I feel I can even talk about is Kyle Allen. As a Texas fan boy and an aggy hater I followed his recruitment pretty closely. He was the top QB prospect in the nation and the heir to Johnny football. Then he went out and lost his starting job at aggy (probably unfairly) transferred to a lower level of competition because of the way he was treated by Sumlin and the fans, and then promptly lost his job at UH. I don't think he has the mental makeup to make it. Its a fine 7th round pick - I just don't like the kid.

Pure transparency... i got to the third round and forgot to slot Price in somewhere in the first two, so yeah it's a tad unrealistic.

I'me "kind of" with you. I happen to think he has physical traits to make a solid backup, and he's a great fit for the Bears system.

Thanks for putting this together wab.

If Nelson is gone at 8, I will be hoping the Bears trade down.

Interesting...overall I like it and agree on a lot.

I've been on the record that I think McGlinchey, Landry, and Lamar all go higher then projected. Personally, I think all 3 go top 15 and it wouldn't shock me if 2 of them go top 10-12.

Not an Edmunds fan but I love the Hamilton, Cappa, and Crawford pics. Bryan, to me, is such a boom or bust player.

Nice call on Smith at 8. He went us instead of the Fins, but good call. Good draft. I'd like to see us take an OL, like Hernandez or Daniels in the 2nd round, but that's just me. We need to replace Sitton, and I don't think Kush is the answer.

Wab...fantastic job predicting our pic. Now in the 2nd I am torn. I'd REALLY like us to get Lorenzo Carter to pair with Floyd to make for a SICK pass rush with the middle of the field getting solidified with Smith/Trevathan or Smith/Kwiatkowski on any given play. I know it would be a lot to invest both high pics in LBs, but it would make the D fantastic.

If not Carter, I hope we go for Oline.

We really need to draft a G in the 2nd. Anything after that is going to be a project. Biscuits now has weapons to throw to, and they need to give him time to do it.
