I feel like I'm one of few who actually like our OTs, especially at their price. Whitehair and Long are both quality NFL starters/borderline pro bowlers. I heard Long on a podcast yesterday and he said he feels 24 again...so that's good. So that means we need either a starting OG or C..I have faith that Pace can find that after the 2nd or in free agency.

I am one of the few that now like our OLB's.

Floyd- I am believing this is the year he breaks out.
Acho- Very much under-appreciated but very solid.
Lynch- Looked like a lock as future pro bowler. If he gets his head right again maybe we see that player again.
Jones- had a pretty good audition last year lets see if he builds on that.
Robertson-Harris- (About the same size as Houston who played OLB,( ok about 4 inches shorter) I am begining to think that great things are ahead for this kid. https://www.minerrush.com/2016/4/27/115 ... son-harris" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Does this look a little familiar?

Being delusional is nothing new for EricTighe. :-)

Back on topic: the relative strength of the interior o-line in the draft means you can use that to your advantage and grab positions less deep early on. This only works if you have a number of guys rated similarly and can reasonably anticipate one or more of them falling to a value point of the draft.

Example: I have Mason Cole, Wyatt Teller, and Frank Ragnow rated pretty closely and think they're about a late 3rd value. It's reasonable to think one of those guys will slide to one of the Bears' picks in the 4th. So if Nelson is gone at #8 and the pick is, say, Tremaine Edmunds, if the rating on those guys isn't that far behind, say, Braden Smith when the pick comes up on Day 2 at #37, you might be willing to gamble that one of those three will be there and target, say, Sam Hubbard at #37 instead.

It's a calculated risk, though, and sometimes those don't work out. But it's got to figure into the calculus of the draft.

Delusional maybe? Homer definitely.

But if history is any indication I hit more then miss in round one of these damn drafts. I have been doing this for years and my little philosophy of Stats + Athletic abiltiy = Stud.

Can Crosby play LG as a rookie? As a big strength guy who maybe doesn't have the niftiest feet for an OT, it could be a fit that meets a need for us, at least on the short term. And a bet hedge depending on what happens with Massie next offseason.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

Floyd-Good, but injury prone
Acho- TERRIBLE---ZERO PASS RUSHING ability(Great guy though)
Lynch- LOL...Future pro bowler?
Jones- I feel like I know this team well...Yet, I asked myself...WHO?
RRH- He's a defensive end, not an OLB...

Seriously though, who is Jones?

I googled it...Howard Jones.

If we're relying on Howard Jones.....Its gonna be a long season. Seeing that list, concerns me.

Lynch had 6.5 sacks as a part time player in his first year and yes he was thought of being a future pro bowler. It helps to follow other teams at times.

As far as RRH goes I can bring up a few examples but already have. In a 3-4 defense never shoe tie a guy to one position. Hicks has the fattest ass on this team and plays DE not NT as should be the case. Houston, McPhee and Willie Young were all over two were 6'3" and 2 were over 270 one being under 270 and 6'5".

I am not saying he isn't solely a DE I am just saying don't horse tie to that one spot.

It's not just the size that places people into their positions, it's also their skill sets.

Roy Robertson Harris weighs almost 300lbs now. He’s unequivocally NOT a linebacker. They said when they signed him that they saw him as an athletic 5T.

Floyd has shown flashes, but not enough and it’s getting high time for that breakout season we keep hearing about.

Acho is a good special teams guy and a rotational LB.

Jones is a fringe player with some athletic ability.

Lynch...I happen to sort of agree with you. I don’t see pro bowl but if he’s right in the head he’s an 8-10 sack guy. But this is pretty much his last shot in the league.

The Bears need to draft a pass rusher and another defensive lineman. There’s just no getting around it.

and redshirted him an entire year to gain that weight and learn how to play 5T.
