Had some injuries this year, but he had a hell of a Combine. A workout warrior. He’d be a reach at 8, but I wouldn’t hate it.

Why would you pick him at 8 when you could trade back 10 spots and get him?
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

This. And I would love that move! I'd take Landry between 15-20, use the extra second round pick on Lorenzo Carter/Dorance Armstrong and take Daniels out of Iowa also and move Whitehair over to LG. I'd be so happy!Mikefive wrote:Why would you pick him at 8 when you could trade back 10 spots and get him?

Pass Rushers get overdrafted. if you want one you'll pay a position premium.Mikefive wrote:Why would you pick him at 8 when you could trade back 10 spots and get him?

Not 3-4 pass rushers. It is one position you don't need to reach to get a good one. We reached a few years ago in the first for an outside pass rusher. He turned out so good I forgot his name.Hiphopopotamos wrote:Pass Rushers get overdrafted. if you want one you'll pay a position premium.Mikefive wrote:Why would you pick him at 8 when you could trade back 10 spots and get him?

If this was 15 years ago - I’d agree with you. But even 43 base teams play so much sub-package stuff that they’re drafting traditional 34 type guys as pass rushers.
I think teams are at a point that they don’t generally care as much about what you’re ‘best suited for’ as much as they care if you can rush the passer.
