41 years old. Hung himself. Leaves behind 6 kids.

Extremely saddened by this news, as Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands in high school.

Just saw that as well... today was Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday and apparently those two were close.

another talent lost to everyone

I know he had drug problems in the past but thought he was cleaned up ... apparently still had demons of some kind

He was abused as a kid by an older man (take that for what you will) and I think he struggled with that greatly.

well that is bad, but if it was as a kid, that was over 30 years ago ... would that have really been what set him off now?

He's struggled with it for a while from what I understand... traumatic experiences like that as a kid have a really unfortunate impact on one's psyche. It can be dormant for years and then the littlest of things can trigger bouts of depression, etc. I think Cornell killing himself really fucked him up and my guess is today was just too much for him to bear.

I loved Linkin Park, went to see them a few years ago in Tinley Park.
