That's awesome, and might win. I assume you put grades and positional needs in. Any other variables? Did you weight positions?

I first assembled a consensus bigboard based on rankings not grades. This year I used 13 (including your personal rankings) then eliminated the high and low scores for each player, leaving 11. Then I put together as many mocks as I had time for. This year I managed 21 (the Conley affair blew up on me).

My program first compares the mocks to the board and characterizes each pick as BPA, a position reach, or a reach for a particular player (because he wasn't the best remaining at his position). Then it tries to simulate the draft using the odds of each team picking BPA or reaching to see which remaining player receives the highest odds. It also compares each likely pick on the next team's possible picks to discover the most likely combination and uses that combination to predict the first team's pick. Then it looks at the 2nd & 3rd teams, then the 3rd & 4th, etc.

when it was announced the Bears had traded up 1 spot, I was confused ... but then I reasoned "ah - they wanted the #2 pick to be able to trade down and get more than they were offered for the #3" ... and as convoluted as that may have been, it could have / would have made sense

what actually happened did not IMO

In this bizarre draft, it was a war of attrition among those who participated...

MALK - 2 points (to his credit, however, he did call Houston getting Watson & KC getting Mahomes, but didn't predict them trading up to get them...)

UOK, SC BEAR, RING4CHI, MMMC_35 - 3 points

THUNDERSPIRIT, MIDDLEGUARD - 4 points

WAB - 5 points

BORIS13C, ATKINS&REBEL - 6 points

...and your winner, and for the second time the BFO Draft Contest Winner (updated signature on the way...)

ROCKBEAR99 with 9 points! He called the following accurately: Garrett, Fournette, Adams, McCaffrey, Ross, and Charlton.

Well done, Rock! PM me your email address and I'll shoot you the $50 e-certificate toward the Bears official store!

Not for nothing, but I counted 9 points for myself
Garrett (1), McCaffery (1), Davis (3), Charlton (4)

Don't know how that works with the tie breakers, but I at least want credit damn it!

Dammit, I missed that.

I'll give this 24 hours for people to chime in with their toss-ups.

In the past with ties I just split up the prize pool among the winners.

So you are correct and you and Rockbear tied! If anyone else has grievances with their scores, let me know and I'll look things over again later today.

Looking at your tie breaking procedure, I believe that I take it with 2 correct picks in the 20-32 range after neither of us got any picks right in the 10-20 range. But I'll go with whatever you decide.

Oh damn, you are correct. I knew I was going to make a few errors.

I'll give other entrants through tomorrow to find out if the scoring was messed up. Otherwise Rock takes the crown.
