He's got that weird lefty throwing motion.

Good thought exercise.

I think if we did not have the #1, or say #2 pick, I'd be on board with keeping Fields and building around him.

The next tier of QBs have enough questions around them that at least you've got a known quantity in Fields that you could upgrade around instead of spending a pick on a QB.

But, a top tier QB is just a force multiplier. Doesn't matter how many weapons you have (9ers) if you're going against the best. If there's a REAL chance to get a real difference maker at the position, you swing for the fences.

I'm not necessarily on the Penix train, but I can overlook a weird throwing motion when it's as quick as his is.

I think if we didn't have 1.1 there would be very little talk about moving on from Fields.

(Assuming 1.9 is our first pick)

I sign the 5th year option and roll with JF1 for another year. My offseason plan is basically the same: look to add C in FA, maybe a pass-rusher and WR if possible. With my 1.9 pick i'm targeting Nabers or Odunze. I use whatever I have from the Panthers to trade back and be sure I have ammo next year to get a QB if 2024 Fields isn't worth a proper extension.

There is never a case I'd support Kirk Cousins. I'd rather give Mitch another chance before going with Cousins. And I do not want to give Mitch a chance.

I love the thought exercise here, minus Kirk Cousins. He can go waste some other teams time for 2 years.

Sorry, I just truly dislike Kirk Cousins and never want to see him in a Bears uniform.

To close: just say no to Kirk Cousins.
Does he owe you money...or.....?
did Kirk and your mom uh nm.

I think I would draft best wr available or elite OT.

Tbh, I just really don't like Kirk. I hate QBs like him and he's like the poster boy for that type. He's good sure. He will be good enough to make it hard to replace him while knowing deep down you never will win one with him. He is a waste of how ever many years of the other players careers you sign Cousins for.

I just simply don't want to watch that. I felt similar but to a much lesser extent about Dalton because Dalton would make it more obvious you needed to replace him.

I promise you this, if the Bears do sign Cousins, ill be calling for Bagent to replace him every freaking day that's for sure.

No, I'm sure it was @cblaz11 that dated Tom Brady's wife in college, or something.

Anyone advocating for trading down and still selecting a QB in this hypothetical scenario might want to consider this nugget from Patrick Finley:

"Only four first-round quarterbacks chosen after No. 13 overall since 2000 have made a Pro Bowl."
