Kirk Cousins appealed personally to owner Dan Snyder for a trade but was basically told not to get his hopes up, per sources.
Ha, wow.
The Redskins are such a mess.
Cousins just watched his 2 main receivers go elsewhere, so that may have prompted this exchange
he still hasn't signed his franchise tender yet, so the messy Redskins could get messier
yeah, poor guy now has to play for his next contract with a tight end as his top target. he's going to regress, and the 49ers are going to get him at alot cheaper than if they signed him this year.

he gets to go play with his brother in Carolina
he's decent enough, but I have accepted I am not familiar with what passes for average salaries any more so have no current concept on whether his $$$ amount is good, bad, or indifferent ... seems like a lot to me, but maybe that is now the new norm?

He's coming off hip surgery and most Minny fans hated him... some going as far as saying they would pay to get him off the roster... most are shocked that a guy who really hasn't played well is getting top tackle money...

I lived in Minneapolis for ten years. This is accurate.
That sounds about right for the consensus top corner on the market. With a rising cap they always look huge at the start and become relatively smaller over the life of the contract.
Whether he's worth it is perhaps another matter what with only one elite year. They're paying for upside though and I'd have done that deal.
