Enough of this Bears bullshit. Let's talk about something important.

I'm pretty sure we can all agree upon the eternal undisputed greatness of Pink Floyd.

I don't want to call the poll The Best Pink Floyd Song because, to be honest, I don't think there is one (I think there's a solid half dozen "right" answers here probably more.) and then it'll descend into arguing because we're all a bunch of bad MF'ers around here. :)

So I would like to ask that you pick three of them. I think that'll give us a good sampling of where things lie. I'll do my best to represent them and leave out any glaring omissions.

I'm lumping the live and studio versions together so as to not have a poll with 50 choices. If you want to call out the live version go for it.

I do think it would be fun if we posted YouTubes of these tracks.

Now Shine On You Crazy Diamonds!

I'm a massive music nerd, and I also have loved Pink Floyd since I was first introduced to them in high school in 1989. We had Wish You Were Here on tape cassette at the pizza place I worked at and it played frequently as we only had 7 or 8 tapes back there lol.

That said, I can't choose from this list. I'm not trying to be a doucher music guy, but my favorite songs are deeper cuts.

From that list, in no certain order - Comfortably Numb (the night ended song when we were high as kites and drunk as hell); Welcome To The Machine; and Wish You Were Here.

Big fan of Have a Cigar and Great Gig in The Sky.

I selected ‘wish you were here’ but I was looking for Fearless.

Hard to pick a favorite from such a great group. I went with Money, just because came to my mind first. Sadly, when I was a college freshman and The Wall was released, it was so overplayed in my dorm, I got sick of it. A real shame. The Mrs. would choose Comfortably Numb, about the only song on that album that doesn't make me cringe.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

Public service announcement - I highly recommend watching the Hipgnosis story, lots of really cool back story stuff on Floyd, and lots of other artists

For many years, I've lamented the lack of live recordings of old Floyd stuff before Meddle. Maybe somewhere there is a live recording of Atom Heart Mother performed with an orchestra; I could die a happpy man if so. But I just discovered Nick Mason's 'Live At the Roundhouse', recorded live in 2018. He's the only original member of Floyd playing but it's very good with many of their old songs. And there is a live version of Atom Heart Mother although not with an orchestra:

Where are my old Chicago Bears and what have you done with them, Ryan Poles?

Chicago radio station. The Drive, 97.1, is playing Dark Side of The Moon during the eclipse today. You can catch that station at their website or on the tunein app.
