The scouting combine was over for all of one day when the pro-day circuit fired up, with the University of Buffalo inviting NFL scouts to campus Wednesday for a look at its prospects.

The Bears were in attendance, according to a report in the National Football Post, and safety Mike Newton was one of the primary attractions.

Newton (5-10, 197 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 and 4.48 seconds, but did only nine reps on the bench press at 225 pounds. He is considered a late-round prospect.
Buffalo running back James Starks is the school's top prospect, and he passed on going through drills after performing at the combine. He was the biggest running back at the combine at 6-2, 218 pounds. Starks sat out all of last season with a shoulder injury but is considered a rising prospect. Wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt is also considered a solid prospect.

Other teams present according to the report included Atlanta, Buffalo, Cleveland, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Kansas City, New Orleans, the New York Jets, Oakland, Philadelphia and San Diego.
