Re: Nattering Negative Numnut
I have some Negatives to Natter about as well: Although I am a huge Kevin Warren fan, I think they TOTALLY SCREWED THE POOCH on the Stadium press conference. From the ill-conceived prayer (and make no mistake, I am a Minister -- I have no problem with prayer. It was simply out of place in that cont...

Re: What about 2025???
Also, didn't Deion say his kid would only play for the Cowboys or the Niners? I generally wish the best for everyone, but I hope Shedeur goes undrafted. Any suggestion that Shadeur will only play for certain teams thus alienating others is ridiculously foolhardy. Only a few of the 32 teams will be ...

Re: The 2024 Draft
So I'm looking around at the top QB picks in the 2024 draft, and the best rookie QB/WR combo that I can find outside of the Bears is Drake Maye and Ja'Lynn Polk. Which on paper is pretty good. #3 QB pick overall along with a 6'1" receiver in round two that had over 1000 yards receiving for the ...

Re: The 2024 Draft
Two things I will say about that: 1.) Who's to say the Packers wouldn't have made it to a super bowl if they had been all-in and tried to surround Rodgers with more weapons? Tee Higgins went just a few picks later, at the top of the 2nd round, for example. 2.) Drafting a QB at #8 is a bit different...

Re: The 2024 Draft
I don't want to belabor this point too much because this is a Bears forum. But what the FUCK were the Falcons doing?? Yes they absolutely could have taken Rome Odunze, but they needed help on defense even more. So the answer was...blow a #8 pick on a 24 year-old late-first round ranked QB that's not...

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa
I think we're going to get half way through the season and everyone to a man will be delighted that we took Taylor in the 4th. I hope you are right! I want to cheer for the Crocodile Punter. Someone mentioned him doing kickoffs potentially. I don't know how legit of an idea that is but if it can be...

Re: Post Draft Meatball Overreaction - Three Things
Surprised nobody has mentioned the Black Unicorn (Martellus Bennett). You want personality? That group had it. Unfortunately, they couldn't really do much with it as a group. They could have done something if we didn't have a combination of Mike Tice and Mike Martz as OC's behind J'Marcus Fucking W...

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa
This whole punter thing is crazy. There have to be enough FA punters to block out the sky. Or get somebody from a soccer league. I do not understand the fascination with people cheering us drafting a punter in the fourth round. I mean OK, a good punter is worth an extra X in field position. I agree...

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa
I know you mean this in a super positive way, but when I read posts like this my initial reaction always is "God damnit why do my fellow Bears fans love 7-3 games so fucking much?!?!?" I see more and more coming around to my life long dream of Super Duper Offense. My brother in arms @The ...

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC
I never thought I'd see a Caleb Williams draft thread become a Cade McNown thread. https://i.imgflip.com/6y9qe0.jpg Dude...we're Bears fans. We are conditioned to dwell on the failures of the past, while lamenting our general lack of promise for the future. For most of us, we are now in uncharted w...

Re: R5 P144: Austin Booker, Edge - Kansas
He's going to take a year of development to be a 3 down DE. But like a lot of people have already said, he'll be a great 3rd down, "go get the QB" this year. One thing that was really intriguing to me was his length and power for a 245lbs DE. Watching some of his highlights, he was throwin...

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC
Watching his "20 minutes of structure" highlights. Not sure if I've ever seen a QB that moves up and around in the pocket like he does. He just glides around, always with his eyes downfield. I also have to say, when he throws off of a clean platform (or sometimes when he doesn't) his deep ...

Re: R1 P9: Rome Odunze, WR - Washington
With DJ and Allen let’s just go with him getting 700 yards this year. If he averages 1100 yards per year for the remaining 4 years we are assured we have him (using the 5th year option) he breaks the all time yardage record for a Bears’ WR while on a rookie contract. Freaking sad that the bar is th...

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC
I’ve been watching a lot of CW tape. Mostly from 2022. He gets into trouble with his hero passes. The jump passes, throwing across his body to the middle of the field, etc. but when he’s locked in, sliding around the pocket, and then throwing from a stable platform. Good Lord. He generates so much v...

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC
One other thing that Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, and the re-vamped Bears offense will bring to the table next year. We no longer get the 5th string announcer and color analyst teams. It's only top tier for Chicago next year. LOL!

Re: R3 P75: Kiran Amegadjie, OT - Yale
I don't know if Jones can play OG, but if he can then I'd keep him on the left and get Jenkins lined up next to Wright again. As it stands I don't see Jones playing inside as much as I can see either Wright or Amengadjie playing there. We have three guys drafted as OT all of whom can play OG. If Jo...

Re: What about 2025???
I really hope we don't use any of that draft capital to pay for in-season moves. I am now pretty bullish on the bears winning 11+ games, which will put us in the lower half of the draft. We want to be able to use that capital to ensure healthy (and affordable) roster turnover. We also want to be ab...

Before we crown his ass for the starting LT next year, let's remember he was playing against Ivy League talent. I seem to recall another promising Bears OL from the Ivy League ... what was his name? Ah yes - Dieter Eiselen, now with the Texans. Remember how excited some of us were? - https://i.make...

The funniest part about this thread is that Atlanta didn’t need to lose their 1st round position to help the Bears. They fucked that pick up all on their own.
