Re: Week 4 // Bears (1-2) vs. Rams (1-2)
Still don't believe in Waldron and his use (or lack thereof) of personnel. He's gonna have to show improvement over weeks to get real buy-in. DStill want to see RoJo as the workhorse back with Swift and Herbert. And he absolutely needs to rip up that page in the playbook with the bubble screen to DJ.

Re: Week 3 // Bears (1-1) @ Colts (0-2)
It may be completely wishful thinking, but I'd love to wake up later today and hear that the Bears are holding a press conference this afternoon to announce that they are relieving Shane Waldron and Chris Morgan of their duties. That would be a great start to the week after the misery of this game.

And next week the Bears horrid offensive line is up against the Colts monsters DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart in the middle of the line. They gotta do something this week because they did Caleb wrong on Sunday night.

Re: Week 2 // Bears (1-0) @ Texans (1-0)
The Bears were #2 and #1 in rushing respectively the last two seasons (excluding the Justin Fields numbers) with 4 of the 5 players of the same players on the line. What's missing is a commitment to the run, especially runs that do not involve lateral tosses from the shotgun. Seattle players and fan...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
What might make more sense, if they continue to clean up their cap mess, is the Chargers. Right now, Max Duggan is the only backup to Herbert. Justin could sit behind Herbert and get the benefit of being in Harbaugh's system with Greg Roman as his OC, while working on his timing issues with their QB...

Re: Bears sign RB D'Andre Swift to 3yr, $24M contract
Terrible move. Waste of money. Should have just drafted a back. I agree. This team has a terrible history lately of 'patching the tires' with free agents, rather than drafting and developing our own. Then when they get all these new wonderful toys off of other teams' rosters, the people running thi...

Re: Luke Getsy hired as Bears OC
Getsy is not even a halfway decent NFL OC. Stefanski managed to plug 4 different guys into his offense and make it work. Stats without context can present a completely false picture. Getsy's offenses were a hodge podge of randomness, with the exception of his incessant screens. Good luck to Pierce i...

Re: Luke Getsy hired as Bears OC
Didn't take time to reread the whole thing, but I'd be willing to bet that we had many optimistic post about him. That didn't age well. Much like most of our optimistic post. Honestly (i'm a freak and read through most of this), generally people were very cool on the Getsy hire and it feels like we...

Of all of the previous regime's players that they let go, EJ should have been at the top of the list.southdakbearfan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 8:43 pm Probably my biggest gripe all year with him was this. Zero interest in tackling, even when he was the last chance to stop a TD. Just weak ball stripping attempts.

I was for this initially, but after watching him make half-assed attempts to strip the ball rather than tackle most of the season, I don't think you want that example around your young guys.
Let him hit the road.

Re: Bears fire OC Luke Getsy, QB coach Andrew Jonoko
In our current state, Greg Roman does make a lot of sense to bring in. If he's good at two things, it's: 1., working with QB's that have similar skillsets to Justin Fields, and 2., getting fired when everyone realizes his offense sucks ass. So a great 1 year bridge OC before everyone gets fired. I'...

I have to give Eberflus credit, going from 0-4 to 7-9 having a chance to make the playoffs is pretty impressive I understand why we could give him great credit, but I have mixed feelings about this. The quarterbacks we defeated this year were not necessarily an illustrious group. With the exception...

This team would be 8-6 had conservative coaching decisions not given away the game in Detroit and the one against Denver. That's wild to think about.

Hope Flus and Getsy were watching Lafleur show them how to finish a game strategically. Watching that game was another showcase of the ineptitude of the Bears' misleadership staff.

Poles doesn’t represent change, he’s too timid. You need someone who’s not afraid to upset the owners and speak their mind. Poles is a ‘yes man’ and Flus is his baby. I like that Poles is a nice guy, but I'm starting to get concerned that he's too nice to do some of the tough stuff that a winning G...

After seeing the D'onta Foreman healthy scratch nonsense for weeks and seeing Getsy still on the staff, you can't trust this organization to properly evaluate talent.

Watching Another Bearless Sunday
Not gonna lie, I was a little jealous watching most of the games this weekend with high-scoring and functioning offenses. Meanwhile, the Bears offense looks like the backup JV team, when they have talent. I think the fulcrum of the problem is Getsy and it would be nice to see what they looked like w...

Re: WK 9 // Bears (2-6) @ Saints (4-4)
In an offense that has receivers running the same route on the same side of the field, providing multiple defenders in the area takeaway opportunities, it's a wonder there haven't been more turnovers per game. I've told the Bagentstans and Fieldsstans the same thing, your OC is the biggest problem w...

I think most would agree it didn't matter who the OC was in GB, with Rodgers they would have looked legit. So yeah, I think if Getsy had been the OC he would have "done great" Yes, "if", but he wasn't and his only body of work to date is a failure. It's interesting to watch KC n...

It's nice that we have Bagent to confirm that Getsy can't get it done without elite talent. Where's the proof that Getsy can get it done with elite talent? Getsy's a fraud who only got the Bears job because he sat next to Rodgers. He's a complete imbecile at OC who does not understand how to use pe...

Eh, this is just Bernsy and his manufactured outrage. Yes, the Bagent stuff was a little over the top last night, but they'd prepped for his story arc the whole week. Bernstein throwing out some thinly veiled and lazy stuff about why they were "taking shots" at Fields is just what he does...

Re: Tyson Bagent Discussion: Hero or Zero
This is the fine point of it. There's no rhyme or reason to what he is doing. The first read on any pass play should be DJ Moore, and it isn't. The OL should be more prepared for the pass rushing personnel on any opponent, and they aren't. Plays are run out of the same formation and give the opposi...

Getsy's offensive offense is a mish-mash of random plays that does not make sensible use of his personnel. Not sure who makes that work. I'll be so glad when that guy is some other team's problem.

Re: Bagent’s First Start—What conclusions should we draw? Sort of a sanity check/test
Been watching sports for many years. Heard a lot of conventional wisdom that proved ridiculous with time. What I will say that no one wants to bring themselves to say is that at this point is that Bagent is a more effective NFL QB than Justin, and I love the raw talent of Justin. But I've seen so ma...
