Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

Got a link to this? Like I posted to Heinz it was in something Biggs wrote. Check out his columns in the Trib. I don't have a subscription right now. Let's look at it from a common sense point of view. Allen refused to take a pay cut in SD. Allen gets traded. We have him for one year at $23 mil but...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

Yes, lets PLEASE get this back on track and talk about what matters: There is a slim chance that Caleb is going to wear a dress to the nfl draft and I have never been more excited.

Re: 30 Visits

I guess it's weird to me that after a draft where we used two high picks on DT's (who were both sort of projects), going into a draft where we have 4 picks, people think we'd be targeting a DT?

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

Chris Jones was signed to an 80 mill contract in 2022 and just resigned to a 158 mill deal. Tyreek signed a 3 year 54 mill contract in 2019. Mahomes was signed to a 477 mill contract in 2020. In 2022, the Chiefs had to trade Hill because they could not afford the 120 mill extension that Miami signe...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Break him down for us if you've got the time. I used to be all about size and catching radius but lately I've found myself falling in love with elite footwork/route running, understanding how to make every route look the same and using tempo to throttle in and out of breaks to confuse defenders. Br...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Yeah, I think the disconnect is people who watch football vs people who look at a spreadsheet? I watched a couple of Washington games this year specifically to watch Penix, and came away, well before the Odunze hype train was in full swing, just falling in love with the guy. He's just so obviously ...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Interesting that some of you don't like Odunze when all of the scouting reports and coaching intel and opinions call him elite. Of the three top WR it's Nabers who actually graded the highest post Combine probably because of his speed and YAC ability. Then came MHJr and Odunze but there not much to...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

The whole point of the commentator's comment was that good players find ways to put chips on their shoulder by creating a sense of being disrespected. They invent or imagine adversity to motivate themselves...that's literally what the speaker is saying Caleb hasn't done and that is literally what C...

https://x.com/CALEBcsw/status/1777774121109135384 Wow. I'm sorry, but Wow. So Caleb experienced adversity because he didn't start as a Freshman, he got a hammy, and he finished 7-5 in his last year? I think Caleb's defon of "adversity" greatly differs from mine. Rusty's take makes sense t...

Planet Theory
A tradition as old as time: A potential high draft pick does something incredibly stupid, and fans of every team start salivating at him dropping to them later in the draft.

Probably 75 and next year's 2nd and 4th.

It would essentially make this a two pick draft.
Woof... too rich for my blood.
Hey, that attitude towards the draft got the Rams a ring.

His dad as his “agent” still gives me some pause. Not enough to pass on him but I do worry this contract and especially his second one could be a shit show to work out.
One of my favorite Bear-isms is worrying about how expensive a player's next contract is going to be.

I think the current Chicago Bears are going to SHATTER all existing offensive high water marks for the Chicago Bears.

That might not be enough to get them out of the bottom 10, though.

For once, we have smart, visionary leadership that’s making BOSS LEVEL moves. It's WWAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too soon to be confidently claiming something like that. Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

I'm pretty checked out until the draft, so apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but this comment from Flus recently was pretty interesting: “I like the numbers in terms of the talented players that can get to nine,” Poles said, via the team’s website. “We’re going to do some cool things when...
