Re: What is with all this flag planting crap?

Got to see Eddie / Susan Izzard live last year. They have a way of thinking that really resonates with me, and I love their comedy. I will absolutely go see them again if they come around.

Re: Ryan Poles question

Posted in a few threads  I’m backing out of a few of these discussions for a while as I’ve had my say and I’m bringing myself and everyone else on the board down. I’m pissed off about a few things, not just Bears stuff, so I’ll back off a bit. Sorry for my self-indulgent morose. Take care...

Re: You are Kevin Warren: Do you Fire Ryan Poles?

The Bears could be 8-4 right now and still be 4th in the North. That is definitely not true of the pre-Poles years. if we were 8-4 I imagine a lot of conversations would be different, but we’re a long way off 8-4 My point was that last place this year is very different than it has been tradit...

Re: You are Kevin Warren: Do you Fire Ryan Poles?

Man, context and nuance isn't really a thing around here lately. Where was the context and nuance when Ryan Poles confidently stated “we’re going to take back the North and we’re not giving it back”? In sports you live and die by how you perform against expectations. He shouldn’t proclaim such thin...

If this is true (I have a world of issues with the trustworthiness of the individual conveying this), I'll eat crow. Brad Biggs reported the opposite, so I really don't know what's what. I'm sure he'll be asked about it at some point, so we might get some more details in the next week or so.

Right. Trey Smith is like 26 years old and the Chiefs aren’t going to be able to keep everyone. It would be great to get Trey Smith in, as he would not only give the RG spot stability but he could also help Wright refine his game. Wright has not really had anybody to help give him NFL-experienced a...

DT Graham from MI falling to us would make drafting OT in the first round tough for me. Go IOL and DE in the 2nd and possibly IOL in the 3rd. Let Braxton /Kiran battle it out for LT next year That won’t even move the needle on the Oline debacle Well, you keep saying there aren't any good OL in the ...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - Steelers Edition

Just #4 would have gotten us to 8-4 right now. Your plan gets you wins, but do you really think Fields is good enough to beat the defenses in this division alone, let alone win you playoff games? There's a reason Russ won the starting job in Pittsburgh. I don't know and that's the rub here. I reall...

There’s a trend on social media now where influencers are doing all sorts of horrible stuff specifically to provoke and film. Re: Justin Fields Megathread - Steelers Edition

Russ is cooking! Good line there in Pittsburgh, going to make it hard for a injury induced by a sack. They keep talking about their rookie C like he's the next great C in Steelers long history of great C's. It makes me sick every time I hear it. As much as I love Caleb, I still think that we're in ...

Perhaps - another sign of societal decline. People don't settle their differences like they used to, have a fight then share a beer afterwards - now they just shoot each other. Just sad. But I'm 53 and I've made it this far, so I'll keep on the way I've been doing it. I've never felt like I needed ...

I don't know why coaches allow for that kind of behavior. It's great to celebrate a hard-earned win, especially over your rivals, but don't be a dick about it.

Yeah, seems like a lot of hand-wringing over what will ultimately mean jack shit - it all hinges on making the right hire with the next HC. Whether they can successfully do that remains to be seen.

Imo, if brown doesn’t get the Bears permanent head coaching gig, it’s unlikely he is on the staff of the next head coach. Bellichek (who isn’t going to consider the Bears job - if he coaches anywhere, it likely will be in Jacksonville) would want to bring in his own guy. Not only that - would he ev...

If it does work, it would also be another way in which the Panthers helped the Bears build their team; not only were they fleeced in the trade for 2023's #1 overall pick, they also unwittingly will have let a good HC come to CHI town.

What I don't understand, if Eberflus was the one who wanted Brisker on IR for a personal vendetta, is why Poles would go along with it. Pretty sure he's the one who has to file with the league, right?

It's interesting going back and looking at threads on this forum about Eberflus. If the Bears go 9-8 with Brown you have to keep him. If they got 9-8 and the unlikely scenario of CW regressing during that run happens then I wouldn't want to keep him. Watch the Bears win out but miss a playoff spot to the Commanders because of the Fail Mary. That would be the most Bears thing ever.
