Re: CBS SPORTS: Ranking top QBs from 2020-2024 draft classes: Here's how Caleb Williams, C.J. Stroud and others stack up
Marc Sessler has done a list of QB draft ranks since 2000: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-draft-ranking-all-24-quarterback-classes-since-2000 I couldn't resist doing a quick analysis on this: I assigned 5 pts for every QB drafted 1-10, 3 pts for 11-20, 1 pt for 21-40 Totaled them up for each year Gra...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized
D absolutely helps QBs IMO. If they don’t have to press they will make less mistakes. And, as I always like to point out, it gives them shorter fields. It also keeps the QB from having to throw so much, and, by extension, being in position to get hit. If the defense gives up a lot of points, the of...

Re: New Bears numbers, so far
Yeah, I think Allen is a one-year rental. Trade a 4th, get a solid year out of him and let him walk for a higher comp pick. I concur that Allen is a one-off. He won't be worth more than a 5th round comp pick, though, because he's a ten-year veteran and that's where those max out. Players who have t...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized
Like I posted to Heinz it was in something Biggs wrote. Check out his columns in the Trib. I don't have a subscription right now. Let's look at it from a common sense point of view. Allen refused to take a pay cut in SD. Allen gets traded. We have him for one year at $23 mil but given his age is th...

I remember being in 6th grade and having all the teachers pull us into a room to watch the verdict. Pretty sure I was happy he was not guilty because I didn't know shit. This doesn't seem like a big loss for the world.

Re: Claypool to Canada ?
Forever proof that Poles is not infallible. Still can't believe we gave up pick #32 for that guy. If reports are to be believed, the Packers were in on him, too, so it's not like the move was completely baseless. But yeah, every GM is going to have misses - pick #32 could have been pretty useful.

Re: Yogi da Bear's Picnic Basket (2024)
Caleb's our starter now. I sure hope he doesn't get hurt (knock on wood). Honestly, I feel pretty good about Bagent as the backup. I think he's more likely to be able to play in the offense that Waldron will design without making large changes than Fields would have been. He's not going to make a l...

Re: Yogi da Bear's Picnic Basket (2024)
Before we crown Jordan Love, he’s had one season in which the Packers barely scraped into the playoffs thanks to the Bears, where they won one game (by 4 points). He’s still under scrutiny. Just saying…. The other thing about Love is, yeah, he sat and learned for awhile, but the Packers aren't real...

Re: 30 Visits
I don't think you can really make any inferences from top 30 visits. Greg Gabriel wrote an article recently where he talked about how much they used them as smokescreens so other teams couldn't tell what they were planning to do, and I don't doubt that Poles is looking at every one of these guys as...

Infographic: The Last Time Each Team Drafted a Player By Position Group
Saw this today and thought it was interesting. Weird to me that they considered Dexter a "DE" instead of iDL, but it's still a cool look at drafts over the years.

Man they wanted him out of buffalo. 2024 6th, 2025 5th plus diggs for a 2024 2nd. Bills take a $31 million dollar hit this year ($4 million more than keeping him) but clear $25 million in 2025 cap room. Texans get diggs on what is basically a series of team options out to 2027 as they can cut him f...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
His numbers look better across the board in that chart, is his RAS being dragged down by the two drills that have no data? Height/Weight/Bench are dragging it down since they're so far below average. Of all of Latu's numbers, only his weight is below average. I'm sure if those two missing drills ha...

So Poles and Flus have talked about having dinner with Williams and some his teammates the night before his pro day. Does that effect the 30 visits or how do they get to pull that off? Don't dismiss Dallas... Watched the NFL Today last night and the Dak situation came up. Apparently he has been tagged twice already, so if they tag him again it would be around $80M to keep him for 2025. The talking heads seemed to think that the only way Dak stays is if he's hoisting the Lombardi ...
