https://x.com/NFLPA/status/1842263524665335858 Seems like this is a no-brainer, to me. Back before everyone had cameras, I guess maybe it was different, but even if it was just audio recorders/pencil/paper, just wait until they're done in the locker room? Does anyone see any reason they should keep ...

I’ve had a candle lit for Kubiak - father then son - for 20 years now. Such an obvious choice IMO. But Bears. I can't fucking understand why other teams have new offensive coordinators and hit the ground running. We look like a bunch of bumbling fucking idiots. Even Justin Fields (granted on a podc...

Re: Possible New Kickoff Rule

I've given this a lot of shallow thought, so here goes. Embrace the digital and make the kickoffs a videogame simulation like Madden Football. Each team would name their kickoff return and coverage players, no starters, their physical attributes would be part of the program and the coaches would al...

Re: Possible New Kickoff Rule

I agree with Moriarty - first try making touchbacks go to the 35 (or 40 - same as kicking it OOB). That is probably enough to get more teams to kick the ball off in the field of play. They could keep the existing setup, but have the "receiving" team just start with a ball carrier with the ...

Re: Would you listen on Keenan Allen?

There are also other options out there including Davante Adams for around the same as Allen would cost cap-wise. Adams does have another 2 years left on his contract after this year with a dead cap hit of $15m, but there are no further guarantees so I'm not sure that dead cap hit would pass to a ne...

Agreed, @Otis Day - it really hasn't met the objective they set out to do. I think it's good that they're experimenting with ways to improve it - it might take a few tries, but I hope they come up with something decent.

The Bears started practice Wednesday for Sunday's game with Carolina without two players due to rib injuries. Guard Teven Jenkins left Sunday's win over the Rams with bruised ribs and coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday that wide receiver/return man DeAndre Carter also has a rib injury. Like Jenkins...

Re: Offensive Line - What will it look like

I'm not against trying Bates at C when he's 100%, but I'm really skeptical that a UDFA G, who's been tolerable at that position as a pro, and has cross-trained a tiny bit at C, is going to be a giant revelation at C. Also, even though Jones' lack of anchor isn't nothing, I think it's getting blown ...

At home. They gave 21 to Indy two weeks ago.

So many great thoughts...points in this thread.... In the end, whatever is best for the team. I will admit, my answer before Hard Knocks would have been I trust Poles - But hanging on to Velus has really back fired and Keenan being hurt hasn't helped...Also... any so called chemistry isn't anywhere...

Re: Week 5 // Bears (2-2) vs Panthers (1-3)

Panthers have given up a minimum of 22 points to each team they have played. Bears have a nice streak of keeping teams to under 20 at home. Those things will continue, although I think it will be another game where we have some hand-wringing at times. At the end of the day, I think the Bears improve...

That 4th rounder is looking like darn near a lock right now. Fields already started 4 games and is playing so well I can't imagine they'd change to Russ. Here's his stat line after 4 weeks: 77/109 Comp/PA Comp% - 70.6% which ranks 7th in the NFL 6 Total TD's against just 1 Turnover (1 turnover in 4...

Why would any team be interested in a WR battling a reported bone spur/plantar fasciitis which has already caused him to miss 2 of 4 games and not finish a third, let alone one who will cost the remainder of a $23m contract before hitting free agency? If Poles got an offer equivalent to what he gav...

Re: Caleb Williams Mega-Thread

There is a stat for everything. Absolutely. How many people even qualify for that one? The common draft era started in 1967, so that's only 57 possible years. Then, how many of those years actually had a QB taken #1 overall (lots, sure, but still...like 40 at most?). Then, how many actually started...

Re: Offensive Line - What will it look like

OK, here's my theory, which I know I'm gonna get some pushback on: Teven isn't really a good football player. We all know he's strong, and if he gets his hands on you when he's drive blocking, you're in trouble. But this goes back to talk of his lousy footwork, and coaches not believing he can play...

Re: Week 4 // Bears (1-2) vs. Rams (1-2)

I find it interesting that people are having such a tough time with the games this season. Yes, it's been very tough to watch at times, but we are seeing a young team grow and begin to put some pieces together. Even during the losses, the Bears have never been completely out of it. They had a chance...

Re: Week 4 // Bears (1-2) vs. Rams (1-2)

I was never an OL. I was never an OL coach. I will say I hate this two point stance on passing downs which seems to be all too common now. When did this start. Years ago (yes I am old) OL were always in the three point stance. They had a lower pad level, easier to get underneath the DL. Things chan...

I keep thinking back to his pouting when he was moved to OG and wanted the big $$ that OT's typically get. He could be pouting again that his contract has not been worked out yet. It'll cost him. Does anyone want to talk about the blocking looking better once Teven was out for the game? Yeah, that was really interesting - not only was he out, but Davis was in at RG, then, too, and the unit improved noticeably. I can't really understand it - to me, it says he was either: dealing with some in...

I've seen a few comments about DJ Moore "giving up" on the TD pass route - based on what I saw and what DJ has said (I listened to his interview on 670 the Score this morning), it was simply a miscommunication on an option route. He took the blame for it. He and Caleb aren't quite on the s...

I've had an ego push mower for about 5 years, and it's been great. Battery lasts pretty long - usually I can get through my entire lawn (about 1/4 acre - 45 mins runtime), unless it's really tall/not 100% dry. Charging is fast, though - even if I can't finish it all at once, it only takes ~30 mins t...
