Link to every tight end drafted in the first round since 2000.
Not exactly an abysmal hit rate, at least a few notables in the list.

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
Considering what has been said about Waldron's 2 and 3 tight end sets, maybe they need three big, productive tight ends.

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
THIS RIGHT HERE! Think of all the UNBELIEVABLY WILD stuff that McMahon did as a draftee and rookie. Yet, he is beloved in this town. Folks need to take a chill pill and watch the kid play. Mac backed it up on the field, that’s what Caleb needs to do. Don’t feel stifled to operate always in scheme. ...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
That kid is going to need to learn how to secure the football when he runs or he'll be fumbling all the time in the NFL. Maybe Flus can get Peanut to spend a day with him punching the ball loose until he gets the message or make him carry a ball with him everywhere he goes and have teammates attemp...

GO8, in your new sig, they forgot to say when Poles was born.
(But maybe they want us to subtract 3 from 1988 which is something I can still do.)

So it must be Caleb

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
With Justin gone we should all be thrilled the Bears are selecting a QB with the 1st pick in the NFL draft. Not only that, a guy most analysts having been saying is one of the top prospects in years. This isn't picking Mitch. This is picked someone most agree is "the guy". This is an exci...

Thanks a bunch for this, Yogi.
This is a heartbreaker for some of us but trust in Poles, I say. He will get Bears back to primacy in the fastest way.
Hopefully they all pass these physicals.

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
ANd to keep as many options open as long as is reasonable, Poles needs to thoroughly vet at least several other QB candidates. Flexibility to trade down will be enhanced with several paths to follow, and due diligence on the various players will pay big dividends.

What a dumb-ass thing for an agent to tell somebody in Fields position. That's the flimsiest anti-fields BS I've seen in a while.

Perhaps, sure. Someday we're all going to be older, grumpier, and feel that the old times were better. I don't agree much with baby boomers, but I definitely prefer to respectfully agree to disagree with them more often than not, and I think in general we could all stand to be kinder. Doesn't cost ...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
Yeah, the weird concept of punishing Williams after taking him seems strange. To be fair, view this situation through the lens of somebody who - has routinely viewed and played football through the lens of high school/collegiate levels - grew up in times when the NFL was much less QB-driven and not...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
Here are the three realistic possibilities for Fields' going forward: 1. The Vikings/Patriots Draft Scenario. In this situation, the Vikings trade picks 11+23+R12025 to the Patriots for pick 3. The Patriots then trade picks 11+34+180 to the Bears for 9 and Justin Fields. I think there is a chance t...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
As the dust has settled, I see it coming to 2 options. A trade to Philly for Josh Sweat or keeping Fields to pair with CW until a QB1 goes down on another team. Pretty much our options at this point. Don't see any others out there. Why give him away? With the way Poles is building out this roster n...

These are the same people that have been parroting the same thing from the beginning. What’s gross here about this is that people can’t wrap their head around even the possibility that they are wrong about any of: Fields being better than they think, CW not being as great as they think, and Poles m...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
I'm still a little confused about trading a 4th round pick for a soon-to-be 32 year old WR who is due $23.1M this season. There has to be some sort of catch I would think, unless we figured burning the cap space in 2024 to acquire a talented vet like him was worth it. More and more I think we draft...
