Re: Build the Lines
No, but Odunze is an upgrade over what Allen was last year. I expect both him and Moore to pick up a lot of his catches. Whoever is playing as the 3rd WR or committee of 3rd WR won't put up the numbers Allen did. The TE will also see more targets and more catches for more yardage. The offense ...

Re: Build the Lines
The most positive think we can say now is that we're no longer receiver poor at WR or TE and we have RBs who can also catch the football. Even if Poles doesn't bolster either TE or WR (which I doubt he'll overlook) we'll still be adding another back who can catch. CW will have plenty of people to ...

Fair on 8 turnovers, only fumbles lost matters. But I think you like numbers too much (PFF ratings annd advanced metrics and such). And extending a 4 game sample size from 2 years ago just doesn’t do anything for me. Agree to disagree and I’ll just say again, I’m good with whatever Ben Johnson ...

Re: 2025 NFL Draft Thread
To me it would difficult to see them pass on one of the six true blue chip guys in this draft even when TE is not a priority vs DE/Edge which is. There is enough DE talent to score one on Day Two and there are other TE as well but none who rank as high as Warren. And while he duplicates and/or ...

Re: Bears sign QB Case Keenum to 1yr $3M deal
You mentioned Bagent's play being a very small sample size, which is true. He was an undrafted rookie. Rookies make mistakes and can learn from them. Just because Bagent threw too many INTs two seasons ago doesn't mean he'll continue to do so. We won't know unless he plays.
Somehow you keep ...

Where are you seeing 10? Everything I'm coming across says 6, 7 tops.
Most recently from Patrick Finley, but you're right he actually said "The Bears think there are fewer than 10 top-tier players in the draft. If one makes it to No. 10, the Bears have to take him."
I agree with him. This team ...

Being serious, for a backup turnovers are a major consideration. You want that steady/safe hand back there in that backup/spot start role, you don't want a turnover machine. Give me the guy who won't lose you games vs swinging for a guy that has more upside but also more risk. JMO.

I keep seeing beat reporters say the Bears believe there are 10 blue chip prospects in this draft. They're therefore guaranteed to be in position to get one of them and may well have a choice of more than one depending on whether teams reach for a QB.

Re: Bears sign QB Case Keenum to 1yr $3M deal
Well it would look a lot different if you counted those 6 kneel downs. 😂 Anyways, a 4 game sample size is meaningless for the most part. Point is both guys look like career backups, and until something changes for Bagent that just is what it is. Maybe Bagent is a better backup than Hanie.

He's Caleb Hanie until he isn't.
To be fair..
After attempting just 14 passes in his first two seasons Hanie started 4 games in his third season and won none of them. His career stats were:
51 of 102 (50.0%) for 613 yards (6.0 ypa), 3 TD, 10 INT and a 41.8 passer rating

With regard to Tyler Warren, he's who Patrick Finley has going to the Bears at #10. Here's his reasoning (note Campbell, Membou, Graham and Jeanty are all off the board):
Yes, the Bears need help at left tackle — it’d be surprising if their plan is really to let Braxton Jones and Kiran Amegadjie ...

I also think that Allen was promised a new contract before the trade, and because of Odunze or simply just getting cold feet--Poles either backed out of the deal, or countered with a lowball offer.
