Re: Matt Nagy deserves a little credit

In contrast Ryan Pace has built a team designed to win with its defense despite having hired an offensive coach. Some of that’s because you had to seize on Mack being available but it’s also because Pace has been neglectful in addressing the offensive line and has repeatedly missed on offensive tal...

End zone seats are great when the actions at your end, not so much when it's all down the other end.

Re: Update: McCaskey addresses team - no Nagy firing after Thanksgiving

That said, I think I like the President of Football Operations + GM structure a little better. And yes, it does diminish the GM role. But here's why I like it: If you separate the two, you can spread core competencies out and focus efforts on what you do best. Your President of Football Ops should ...

And Marc Trestman could have a bowling ball fall on his skull, suffer a traumatic brain injury, have to relearn how to walk and speak...and he'd still know twice as much about running an NFL offense as Nagy. I ran out of patience with Nagy some time ago, but I think you're somewhat over-exaggeratin...

Re: Has anyone changed their mind on Daboll?

In defense of Fangio, he's not exactly had an abundance of talent or stability at the most important position. The QBs he's has had to work with make those Nagy's had look like a veritable feast of talent. 2019: Joe Flacco (8 games/8 starts - Passer rating 85.4) Drew Lock (5 games/5 starts, Passer r...

Re: Update: McCaskey addresses team - no Nagy firing after Thanksgiving

Nagy himself said the report was inaccurate wh...

Re: Update: McCaskey addresses team - no Nagy firing after Thanksgiving

After beating the Lions yet again, perhaps Matt Nagy should have led a rousing chorus of "Can we play you, can we play you, can we play you every week? Can we play you every week?"

Just watching the TTNL after game show and they showed a clip of Nagy on the sidelines before the team even ran out onto the field with rest of the coaches. He did not speak to one player and not one player approached him whilst they went around fist bumping other coaches.

Re: Week 12 // Thanksgiving // Bears (3-7) @ Lions (0-9-1)

Just realised I haven't given my prediction. I expect both teams to put an emphasis on running the ball and that it will therefore be another relatively low scoring game. Tough one to call, as we don't really know how Dalton will perform or indeed the Bears team generally given all that's gone on in...

From the Sun Times:
The Bears opened the three-week window Monday for rookie offensive tackle Teven Jenkins to return from injured reserve, but have yet to activate him. They have to add him to the roster no later than next week against the Cardinals or he’ll be ineligible the rest of the season.

Man, Sayers was in high school like in the '50s. You ARE old! :) There are reasons we can be be relatively confident about JF1 as at least a really good QB (that he has a high floor): - He is not a turnover machine. He's still fumbling once a game but isn't fumbling 3 times a game any more. And mor...

Re: Old Bear Fan

Anyone anointing Fields as a 'decent QB' at this stage is rather getting ahead of themselves. The guy has done nothing at this stage other than flash promise. We all hope he's going to be more than decent, but he's got a long way to go yet. The biggest issue is that Nagy is going to be fired and yet...

Re: Update: McCaskey addresses team - no Nagy firing after Thanksgiving

He shouldn't have addressed the players and coaches at all. He should have just put a statement out to the press that no decisions regarding Nagy's position had been made and there was categorically no truth to the rumour that Nagy had been told he was going to be fired after Thursday's game. As dpl...

Re: Rumor: Nagy to be Fired after Thanksgiving

You Americans are so polite at games. You think 'Fire Nagy' chants are bad, you should listen to the chants that go round soccer stadiums in the UK when a manager (i.e. head coach) is on the brink of losing his job or owners are hated. They're brutal. Here's just one chant a soccer crowd might be s...

Urlacher was Phil Emery I really cringe when I hear fans chanting "Fire Nagy". I get it, and I get that it actually helps move the McCaskey's to action as they can't like hearing that, but I just feel bad for the guy. He tried his hardest, it wasn't for lack of effort or desire to succeed....

I like Leftwich. It isn't just the success with Brady. Although Brady has raved about him (and he's younger than Brady). It is Arians' opinion, reliance on & promotion of him. From wiki: Tampa Bay Buccaneers On January 8, 2019, Leftwich was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their offensive c...

Not much RichH55. They enjoyed quite a bit of success running the wildcat against Pittsburgh, but you don't run it on 4th and 1! You don't run from the shotgun on 4th and 1. It's just stupid. Even more stupid than throwing deep on 3rd and 1 when you're at midfield although not quite as stupid as the...

But it was one of your mother's turkey sandwiches - which she served without dressing. :flick:
Do you mean the turkey was served naked or KOP_Snake's mother served it while naked?! :?

You do need difference makers to win superbowls and the reason we've been capped out isn't just down to his contract but overall I think it's now pretty plain to see that signing any player to a league setting deal is a bad idea. Potentially QBs excluded but I've already said my piece on that a few...

I thought Lazor was helping but Nagy's hands are still clearly ALL OVER the game planning. Nagy is toast. We know it. He knows it. We'll have a new HC next year. I get the impulse to fire him immediately, but I don't see what that actually accomplishes other than to make folks feel better. Tabor and Lazor aren't going to turn the team around. I would wager that keeping Nagy until the end...
