Re: 2024 NFL Rule Changes

† The NFL has been testing optical tracking devices that could eventually replace the chain gang on first-down measurements, NFL Network reported. The league won’t consider using the technology until at least 2025. † The league is not expected to outlaw the “Tush Push” or change the rule that award...

Re: Free Talk // Open bar, we're not turning the lights off

This might be the weirdest thing I've read from the NFL so far this year: Steelers GM Omar Khan raved about the professionalism of ex-Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson, whom he picked up in a trade with the Rams last year. Robinson caught 34 passes for 280 yards and no touchdowns but played every g...

I love players taking ownership of the process - rather than being dictated to. Me too. But he might have just slept in too. And if you're not going to show, the right thing to do is to call ahead and let your hosts know. That's just common courtesy. Just been listening to a Swift Sports Network Yo...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

Part of me really wants the Bears to have a QB that other teams/fans loathe the way we loathed Rodgers and Favre for all those years. The thought of that makes me want to have a cigarette and I don’t smoke. Williams comes here. Produces. Drives around in a tye dye colored Lamborghini with a few wom...

I still plan on putting together some more substantial videos, but here is a quick montage of macro video I took on my last SCUBA diving trip in January to the Philippines. I have edited over 100 clips already, and I'm still planning out how I'm going to group content together to create some cohesi...

Oh and for the record the greatest Sherlock Holmes is without question Jeremy Brett. If you haven't seen the series starring him I strongly recommend checking it out. Two different actors played Watson, David Burke up to The Final Problem and the showdown with Moriarty at the Reichenbach Falls after...

Ah, it's official then. If the Bears draft a QB it will be Williams. :D  FOR THE RECORD, we chose the name Watson because of Sherlock Holmes (loved the BBC version!) Yeah, yeah, you say that now... but only because of all those lawsuits brought by those 24 owners of female dogs accusing Watson...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

Bears’ QB decision comes down to talent, and that’s perfectly fair There’s a popular sentiment that if Bears quarterback Justin Fields gets traded, which now seems like it could happen any day, it’ll be unfair to him. But in the sports world, it’s actually very fair. The Bears’ decision between Fie...

Will it be the same points system as last year? I recall doing very badly. I blame the idiot who proposed that system (rather than my complete ignorance of college football). Should be the same system, scoring-wise. Ah nuts. Well if I don't do better this year it will be lightsabers at dawn! https:...

That seems much more reasonable. A bit over $200/game.
There's still nothing reasonable about it. Charging your players when you're raking in millions each year is a disgrace no matter how much it is.

When you see the photos and videos of the renovated Hallas Hall you have to wonder how players can't give the facilities top grades. 2021 had 5 QBs taken in the top 15 with 3 going in the first 3 picks. How are all those guys panning out? It doesn't matter how many prospects are being touted to go in the top 5 or top 30-40, all that matters is you choose the right guy when you're in a position to do so. You're conflating a whole...

2024 has got at least 2 QBs going top 5 and 4-6 going in the top 30-40. Historically speaking, that's solidly stronger than average. So 2025 would have to be significantly better than average just to match and a lot lot better than average to be an improvement. So, like I said, 2025 is a mystery, b...
