Yeah - I’ve been following Jags twitter for the last few weeks. This Yard Line Yoda fancies himself as a Jags insider but I’m not convinced. Especially since they have a whole second round of interviews scheduled for this week.

Re: Ian Cunningham 2nd interview w/ TEN

Sadly I don't think he gets the job
Take this for what it’s worth but I’ve heard some scuttlebutt that said the Jax GM might not have final roster control and Cunningham isn’t comfortable with that.

Again, this is prolly BS … but an interesting angle.

Re: Ian Cunningham 2nd interview w/ TEN

I think he's pretty good, it seems like he helps keep Ryan Poles calm (I recall Poles wanting to trade up for Odunze and Cunningham basically forcing him to 'chill out').

My worry goes the other way where, perhaps, maybe Poles wouldn't be as good without Cunningham. But I digress...

If Cunningham gets the Jags job …..

… how do those two additional 3rds change our draft calculus?

I’m not a draft sim master, nor do I have a copy of the “value chart” but I’m wondering.

An additional 3rd this year and next year feels like some real flexibility to move up (or around) in this years draft.

Has anyone gamed out some ...

Re: Adam Jahns and Kevin Fishbain Mock The Bears Draft

I read him as; 6' 3 7/8"/314lbs. Not exactly short or fat. He's seen as being very athletic w/34" arm length. Good enough to play OT but will more likely play at OG or RT.

He's the same size as Josh Conerly Jr whom it's been reported the Bears scouted at the Senior Bowl.

This is my take as ...

I think Ashton Jeanty still is the no brainer pick at #10. He recently said he would love to be a Bear and I hear that Ben Johnson loves him. AND I'm tired of all the "He comes from a small school" crapola. (See Walter Payton) A SMALL school ranked #4 last year. AND I don't think anyone is going ...

This is my problem and one I hope Poles will correct: It’s time to stop shopping in the bargain bin.

I get that we were in cap hell and he needed to be wise/frugal but you accumulate cap space for a reason, and the reason is so you can spend it on A+ talent. And the time is now.

He has placed a ...

If the Bears sign a high level DT, OG, and C in FA then I can see a path to taking a RB. I don’t agree with it, but I can see it.
To your point, FA and the draft board would have to fall just-so in order for this to be a good move.

I think that Poles (and Johnson) knows this and will not make ...

This new approach does not necessarily mean anything...
Mcaskey is also under pressure and had to change something. And that's obviously all he could come up with!
If that also goes wrong, what then? ...to be honest, I hope it goes really wrong!

I honestly believe that we need to look at the Bears as Pre-Warren and Post-Warren.

Assuming we can beef up the lines majorly in FA, the one thing that Jeanty (and to a lesser extent, Skattebo) brings to the table is “sizzle” factor.

As important (nay - CRUCIAL!) as big uglies are, they aren’t exciting. You bring in a kid like Jeanty and the fan base is hyped.

And don’t ...

I'm gonna say it. I love the way he plays, and I hate...LOATH...hearing announcers say his name. It's nails on a chalkboard to me for some reason.

If his last name was Smith I'd probably take him at 39. But his last name is undraftable.

To preface this, I like Planks idea of signing two quality FA OL. That takes the pressure off in the draft and let's you go with a BPA at a position of need.

Ashton Jeanty would be my first pick at 10. Let's see how it works to get the best RB for a change.
Jeanty is interesting but isn’t this ...
