Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen

Odd move, happy to have him but I hope we get more than 1 year. Otherwise I’m not getting it. Makes sense in two ways: 1) Doing right by Justin by surrounding him with the talent needed for success. Poles has built up the middle of the oline and provided 3 new skill players adept at getting open an...

Re: What will Poles do QB draft (Your opinion)

Honest question here: If we take Williams the odds are overwhelmingly against him playing well as a rookie, and taking this team backwards in a year where we should be a 10 win+ team on our current trajectory. If Williams struggles as nearly every rookie QB ever drafted has struggled, and we end up...

Re: Free Agent Wish List

You asked for one name so I'll agree with those promoting Danielle Hunter. A little on the older side but 16.5 sacks tell me he's not done yet. I feel like he'd fill the one big hole in the defense while also weakening a division opponent.

The problem is his lack of play calling success. IMHO, we need someone with proven play calling ability. (as measured by their points scored rank while they were doing it)

Re: 2024 Offensive Coordinator Options

I don't know diddly fuck about Arthur Smith generally, but I do recall that he barely utilized top picks Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts, so I don't know why we would want him working with our roster's young talent. I don't know much about him either , but his offense - "Artistic Smashmouth"...

Re: 2024 Offensive Coordinator Options

Here's a summary of what Eberflus is looking for from the next OC: Eberflus said he thinks running the football well is essential in a cold-weather city and considers that important to a team’s identity. He wants to have a ‘‘multiple’’ offense — one that’s equally comfortable throwing as it is runn...

Re: What will Poles do QB draft (Your opinion)

If they take a QB at all it'll be a developmental guy in the 5th-7th round. I think they believe in Justin and that a new OC (and a new center, WR, RB) will fix everything that ails him. If not, both Flus and Fields are gone and they draft their guy in '25. I agree with this strategy

Re: Bears retain Eberflus as head coach

I think Poles sticking with Eberflus is really tying himself to Eberflus’s success with the team in 2024. So far Poles has shown himself to be a savvy negotiator when it comes to trades as well as having a good eye for talent in the draft but I think the jury is still out on his ability to pick a H...

Re: Bears retain Eberflus as head coach

Again my thoughts are no qualified candidate is going to want to come here with a lame duck coach, a QB who is a good athlete but a mess of a QB, and a franchise history of changing OC's every 2 years. Would you go to that situation? Rich Gannon said this exact thing on NFL radio today. He also bro...

Re: So...what happens next?

I went with option #4 - It's obvious that Fields has everything you want in a QB with the exception of production, and everyone in the building loves him. It's also obvious that Fields and Getsy both can't stay, and it's easier to replace the OC. Poles will continue to load up on talent while Flus b...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

I don't know if that's the case. I DO think, if the Bears manage to win 2 more games, Flus has a real shot at coming back. If he wins 3 more games, he's definitely coming back. If the Bears have 3 or 4 wins, I think Poles will move on. The challenge, again, will be attracting quality coordinators. ...

I understand where 27 pts would put us - and I also understand that if Fields is "the guy" then that goal is perfectly reasonable. Oline is good other than at center. WR's are good, TE is good, RB's are good. None are great, but all are just waiting to be elevated by the play of the QB. I...

27 PPG would rank 6th in the league, ahead of the 7-2 Lions. There wasn’t an option for this in the poll, but if I could wish for 1 thing for Fields I think it might be for fans to have reasonable expectations given where we are as a team right now. I keep getting a vibe that if Fields isn’t top 5,...

I voted for 65, 225 and 60. The other metrics would be nice but they aren’t indicative of him being a QB I want to retain. The one I voted for gives me an idea that we have a QB. I'm confused by this pick Nothing against Wright, I'm sure he's great. But the Bears have made a big deal about scheme fit in the past and Wright doesn't seem to fit the wide zone at all. Yes, he tested great FOR HIS SIZE, but all of the negatives in the various draft profiles have to do with his no...

So the OL claims by the Bears were interesting. Combine that with Diesch coming over from the Dolphins, and all of the sudden you have the potential for a young, highly talented, highly athletic, OL. A lot still has to go right. Leatherwood has to live up to his potential. Jenkins has to be flexibl...

The Floor is markedly lower sadly I don't think you can defend that, other than to repeat nonsense that I already countered in my post here.
