Re: R3 P75: Kiran Amegadjie, OT - Yale
Fine pick to me, a good developmental player who has the athleticism to be OK if pressed into service due to injury. When do any of you remember our Oline having this much depth before as it does after this FA and pick?

I am so stoked right now I can't believe it! What will happen I domn't know, but I've watched all of his college games now, and I don't think we've ever drafted a better prospect.

Re: R1 P9: Rome Odunze, WR - Washington
This is incredible!!! I LOVE this pick!!! It's only because QB frenzy is sweeping this draft that something like this is even happening. Talent wise getting 2 players like QIlliams and Odunze together shouldn't even be possible unless you held 2 of the top 3 picls. Morre-Allen-Odeunze is I think the...

BEARS level irony
Mods I didn't know what thread to drop this in, so if there is a better one please move it.
I just hit me there is a level of irony for our fan base which I think perhaps only this team could have.
Justin Fields has now replaced Mitch Trubisky twice.

Re: Justin Fields traded to Pittsburgh for conditional pick
Playoffs... it's a long time from now to then. Yes on paper there is a lot to like about this roster. 2 key injuries and that paper tiger isnt so scarey. Especially with a rookie QB. William's could be the next great QB, but even the greatest have a learning curve. Poles has done an admirable job. ...

Re: Justin Fields traded to Pittsburgh for conditional pick
Mixed feelings. I've been solidly in the draft Williams camp since week 16, but I've also felt a huge sadness saying goodbye to Fields. I was jumping up and down with joy when we traded up for him, and up to him he was the most talented/high potential QB we've drafted in my lifetime. I feel bad beca...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
To be fair, view this situation through the lens of somebody who - has routinely viewed and played football through the lens of high school/collegiate levels - grew up in times when the NFL was much less QB-driven and not nearly as valuable I think there's a lot of logical, if not old-fashioned pos...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
On sleeping on it I like this trade even more in the light of day. Kennan should have a good 3 seasons left in him, so I expect an extension is coming. The Williams - Fields debate doesn't matter in this regards as it will help either QB (or both if we draft CW and retain JF). Keenan is one of the b...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
Are ya'll kidding with this pessimism? Sure he's 32. Has he yet shown signs of slowing down? No. He doesn't have to be the #1 now. We have the best WR combo in our division now. This is going to be hard to defend with Swift and our 2 TEs. An extension is coming. It frees us to fix the Edge with Turn...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
I'm stunned. SInce it was begining to look increasingly like neither Nabors or Odunze will be there at 9, it's a brilliant move. SInce his contract expires this year I imagine we are working on an extension. If there is any truth to the possibility Williams might to something to force a trade, this ...

Re: Sounds like Kevin Warren favors a trade back...
I hope it's misdirection because I honestly think we should draft Williams and move on from Fields, or draft Williams and keep Fields for a year to let WIlliams develop. I am a Fields fan, got his Jersey, rookie jersey patch card, I've rooted hard for him. The trouble is he hasn't shown enough growt...

My neighbor is a Pack fan who has eerily been right about 85% of the games he's predicted the outcome to me this year. He just told me tonight the Bears are going to win. He said the Pack is being cocky, and the Bears D and Fields are catching fire together. Who am I to quarrel?

Re: Rapaport: Expect Bears to retain Eberflus as head coach in 2024
This is exactly how to look at it and where I've landed. Next year should be Fields under center. We can reset the two 1st round picks for the ammo we need if he fails. It answers the questions about him and the staff so that if it does fail its Fields taking the beating and not the new QB. And, mo...

Re: WK 15 // Bears (5-8) @ Browns (8-5)
Sooo damn dissapointing. The D plays well enough to win until it collapses in the 4th. Fields makes throws which could have won and knaves drop them, but at the same time through the game he also still doesn't see guys who are open. He might be the most talented QB we've ever had, but I fear his pro...

Re: WK 12 // Bears (3-8) @ Vikings (6-5)
I am going to go against the grain here and say the Bears will win this one for the following reasons. 1. This game is meaningless in regards to this season. 2. Losing this game holds more long term value to the team than winning it by getting an elite-top player in the draft. 3. Murphey's Law gets ...

Re: Patriots lose again - in running for 1st pick
MHJ is a must for me. No brainer. Him and DJM would be an amazing WR combo. Just get a C who is legit, and we can roll next year. I know it could be amazing to trade that pick if we have the #1-2 again, but if not trading it is the only way to get MHJ, then hold is and use it.

No W has ever felt more like an L to me. I feel happy because we kept getting the #1 pick still in play, that's what we won.
Flus and staff are the worst coaching duo of my life.
It is maing me laugh that we got Moore and whatever we get for their pick in this draft for Young.

Re: WK 10 // Bears (2-7) vs Panthers (1-7)
Revision as Fields isn't playing, which really sucks since this is a MUST WIN game to keep Carolina at 1 win for the draft. Bagent rebounds a little because the Panthers D injuries give him .5 sec longer in the pocket and WRs get open. Moore still goes off on his old team with fantastic YAC. Bears: ...

I've got a feeling this one will look uuuuugly. Fields makes some good plays and some picks with his throwing off a bit from the thumb, but gets us ahead enough to win. D.J. Moore comes up big against his old team, and them missing Burns makes our line look decent.

Re: WK 9 // Bears (2-6) @ Saints (4-4)
Begent doesn't deserve either the nod over Justin or the ruthless cirticism. He was a rookie in his 3rd game and looked exactly like what he is, a developmental backup prospect. I think he showed some good things which can be worked with and developed by a competant staff. He missed some timing thro...

Re: Bears acquire Montez Sweat for a 2024 2nd
What makes you say so? With that record and the way the team is so unprepared every week he can’t stay. I think trading for a DE may take a 3-4 scheme off the table for next year, but it doesn’t necessarily save Eberflus. Just a feeling more than anything. I think Getsy gets sacrificed and Eberflus...
