Re: Matt Nagy deserves a little credit

Hear me out on this. When you consider what happened in the last week... Reports that a) He would be fired after the Thanksgiving game, and b) George McKnucklehead ordered him to start Fields, and c) he has lost the locker room, and d) Fans chanted "Fire Nagy" at his son's game... In resp...

Re: Update: McCaskey addresses team - no Nagy firing after Thanksgiving

Biggs has been covering the Bears for 20 years, first for the Sun Times and now the Trib. I know it's just opinion but unlike most of us it's informed opinion. I saw the Pompei article a little earlier. Yes it resonated, partly because it seems so logical and obvious and partly because of my experi...

Re: Justin Fields Injury

This is another situation where George needs to put the hammer down and say "NO". You don't put him behind a bad line in a bad offense on a bad team that isn't going anywhere and risk a broken rib puncturing a lung or other organ. Wasn't George the one who demanded he be put out there beh...

Re: Old Bear Fan

we all knew trubisky sucked when he was drafted. While I was much more positive about Fields, and a solid majority was, too, I'm sure - this statement is hugely false and revisionist. Trubisky was the top QB on many people's boards and a R1 pick on everyone's. There were people refusing to let go o...

Re: Old Bear Fan

Fields is a question mark - but one with tremendous upside. It won’t be difficult to find a head coach who wants a chance to work with him or a GM who would welcome the chance to build around him. Well, Nagy took the job claiming to be eager to work with Trubisky, too. The honeymoon lasted all of 1...

Re: Hub Arkush: George McCaskey instructed team to start Fields

It's was pretty clear previously that the orders came from above and that's why Nagy did such a comical 180. OMG. Think about this for one moment. George McCaskey is overriding his own NFL coach on who plays. George-freaking-McCaskey. Whatever you think of Matt Nagy, this should make any Bears fan f...

Re: Week 12 // Thanksgiving // Bears (3-7) @ Lions (0-9-1)

Lions are untalented, but playing hard and very competitive. Thanksgiving games are a big wildcard. And the Bears themselves are a total wildcard. Will they be energized? Will they be sandbagging until Nagy is out? Will they be fine until something bounces the wrong way, then quit? I think they just...

Re: Justin Fields Injury

Regardless of Nagy's thoughts on the best QB to run his offense, it just makes sense to hold out Fields and give him the extra days to heal. Which of course, means he'll be the starter. It would be unbelievably, grossly negligent if this decision wasn't coming from the top (not Nagy) right now. Whi...

I’m calling BS on this. This report is from The Patch which covers big events like a new stop sign on Main and 3rd or pothole repair this weekend in Park Ridge. When Scheftie, Breer or Rap Report confirms, let me know. I also say BS. Why would you tell someone he's going to be fired and then ask hi...

That would be a classy move UOK. As much as I want Nagy gone, I'm a softy and feel bad for the guy personally. He's just a person, with a family, facing getting fired for what was the mountain top of his career. He must be absolutely gutted about it. Best to rip the band aid off and get this over w...

But it was one of your mother's turkey sandwiches - which she served without dressing.

Again it really needs to be mentioned I think that the D for the most part has done their job this season. Tampa hung a big number on them because of turnovers and Pittsburg got a LOT of favors. There were only a couple of games where the DBs really broke down and gave the game away. And I don't ev...

Vildor is down there imo among the worst starting CB's the Bears have (ever) had - at least in the modern era. Jeremy Lincoln was bad, Lemuel Stinson was bad, Zach Bowman was bad...if we want to go WAY back, Terry Schmidt was HORRENDOUS. Virgil Livers was pretty bad. Vildor IS the worst in recent m...

I get that the NFL is a high pressured, results driven business. You are only as good as your most recent results. I get it as I also work in a high pressure, results driven industry. So with that in mind, why do the bears keep doubling down on stupid? First time GM with no track record? HIRE THAT ...

I'm trying to decide if Vildor is the worst Bears CB I've ever seen. There was a guy we had in the Wanny era that was horrible. It wasn't Donnell Woolford. It wasn't Walt Harris. Both of those guys were actually good. But of all the Bears CBs Vildor has to be the worst I've ever seen. Jeremy "...

Bears are 3-7, on a 5 game skid, and tied for 14th out of 16 teams...and with a victory over the winless Lions, can be back to only 1 game out from a Pointless Playoff Spot
