Yeah, that was crazy.
I don't know by what multiple, but that kind of money is a lot more significant to them than to an NFL team.

Re: Vildor Shining Early

I really liked Graham, and never understood how they let him go. Sure Tillman and Jennings were locked in, and DJ Moore was pretty good. But the DB depth at that time wasn't great. I always kind of wondered if he just wasn't a Lovie guy - Lovie absolutely had his favorites. Graham had a great caree...

Re: If the Bears move to Arlington

Thye bidding process ended, there was only 1 and the Bears didn't make it. Here's a pretty comprehensive article on the latest: https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20210615/churchill-downs-strong-proposals-from-numerous-parties-to-buy-arlington-park The article says "numerous" parties submit...

1) I just gave a clear, familiar example of how an elite defense DID play a significant role in points scored on offense. 2) No, you didn't. You gave examples showing that having an elite defense doesn't guarantee having an elite offensive points output . That's not at all the same thing as showing...

Contract years are great motivators. But he'll probably be playing elsewhere next year. That may be just fine. The important thing is to get compensation (like a comp R3 for Hicks, hopefully) as often as possible when good players go - unlike with Massie, Leno, and Fuller. All starters, all on big ...

That's almost impossible by definition. What would the objective measure of "how good your offensive side of the ball is" be? Do you have any correlating points to "how good your offensive side of the ball is"? Those are your words! No, that's a few of my words combined wi...

Re: Excited Delirium Over Fields

For a 'very close to home' example of why to not disregard yards, take a look at some team stats from the Great Mitch Trubisky Era The 2 numbers that are most out of pattern (dissimilar to other years of their category) are 2018 OffPts and 2018 DefTOs Now, according to OffPts, the offense was horrib...

The subtext here is unnerving, "We had a discussion" and "We're not sure if his absence has to do with the pandemic" doesn't compute for me. What did you discuss if not precisely why he's not at a mandatory team activity? Particularly where leadership confirms his absence is not...

From a "That's What Determines Who Wins" perspective, sure. But from an "Evaluating How Good Your Offensive Side of the Ball Is" perspective, absolutely not. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule (2006 Bears come to mind), and nobody has says it's the end-all-be-all, but I'm...

Nagy optimism, I have little to none.

He's not so bad that you can't win with him (very few HCs are), but I'm skeptical of him becoming a net positive anytime soon.
I suspect getting fired and rethinking some things would probably be good for his development.

Kyle's injury woes here were mostly his back and shoulder right? Getting a knee injury sucks, but maybe a guy fell on him or something. Anthony Miller had 7 his first year, but then it stopped. Throw out his high and low and ARob has logged 6,7,6. You can guess pretty well what you're getting there. Mooney had 4, but could rise strongly with competence from the OL and QB. Graham has been all over the place. If Kmet takes a lot of hi...

Well, Minshew v Dalton is a weird thing. "Dalton's been a career starter" vs "Minshew 'lost' his job" somehow impacts the narrative more than their actual performances. But, as for "If Fields needs to sit, why doesn't Lawrence?", c'mon. Trevor led his team to an undefea...

Re: Falcons trade WR Julio Jones to Titans

They send a 2nd and a 4th and get a 6th back. Great deal for the Titans, who are instant contenders now. They had one very nice WR, now they have 2 plus the best RB in the game IMO. A game manager at QB is fine for them, watch out for the Titans. I'd be beyond pissed if I were a Falcons fan. Not at...
