Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Some local Dallas guys are speculating that the Niners are trying to package Brandon Aiyuk plus their 1st and 2nd round picks to move up to 9 so they can take one of the top tackles. I don't know if there's legs to it, but it's at least a rumor on Dallas sports radio. :? Have they been locked in a ...

Re: Bears New Stadium Nonsense Repository

So 'only' 900M in privately funded bonds, instead of 2.3B? Why, that's such a bargain, you can't pass it up!

I don't suppose there was a whisper about the 589M still owed on Soldier Field?
Or the 50M still owed on Guaranteed Rate Field?

Smoke screen. Not sure which way you mean. Smoke screening that you want to trade down when you don't doesn't make much sense, in most scenarios. You could theoretically convince a team shortly after you "yeah, you don't need to trade up to get player X ahead of us, because we're trading down&...

Re: My Guy for the 2024 Draft

I'll stick with Marshawn Kneeland and raise y'all Tip Reiman. From what I've seen, Johnson's got Adam Shaheen athleticism: impressive numbers for someone that size, but his play doesn't really bear them out. He's a good blocker, which is absolutely what we should be looking for in a TE. But Reiman'...

I definitely like him.

If he goes low enough and we acquire enough extra picks, I'm down.
Why not just with the 3rd we already have?

It's not high enough on my priority list

I've got that pick penciled in for WR, ideally

I really want the Texas monster in the 3rd now (some even have him slipping to 4th) He can't give you 80% of the snaps ......50% is absolutely pushing it But he can give you dominant snaps Absolutely perfect guy for a rotation I definitely like him. And now, my final simulation before the draft. If you've paid any attention to my previous drafts, it's all familiar names. But I thought this one was pretty incredible because very nearly every selection out of 12, I was able to get a player where that spot was about the lowest they could realistic...

I think he clearly belongs in that area.

My only objection is Maaaaaason, and only because they just drafted 2.

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?

I'm predicting 7 I personally would steer for even more. People have been repeating "this is a bad draft at the bottom". I think that's overblown. I can find TONS of R4-5 players I would LOVE to have on the roster. Less so in 6/7, but R6/7 is always a longshot. And even there, the Bears de...

My nephew in the Denver area was pissed at this trade. He asked if he could change his alliance to the Bears. Told him he just needed to wait and see what is going to happen in both cities. He seems to forget, I guess he is only 30, the dreadful Bears history regarding QBs. That's silly. It's a goo...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

If we accept we aren't winning a SB this year (I think this is reasonable) then why would Poles send a 4th round pick for Allen AND draft a WR at 9? If the intention is to let Allen walk, then spending a 4th round pick on him in a year we aren't winning a SB is pretty wasteful. If the intention is ...

I had no idea Grasu was still in the league.

He was actually a tolerable backup the last time he got real snaps (2020).

I liked the pick at the time. Had a reasonable rookie season, before the ACL.

For bottom of the roster guys, I would take the older players who did the 5th year. They more than likely are more mature and are willing to bust their ass. I really don't think they consider they will have 1 or 2 less years to play. At the bottom of the draft, you're not asking "Am I going to...
