Re: Richard Sherman, anyone?

Sherman in his prime needed a S over him. He can be a smart short yardage, cover 2 CB, but I'm not sure we wan to limit our defense to that extent, or pay as much as he was making in SF for a limited scheme player.

Re: Excited Delirium Over Fields

If you genuinely like one guy better, or believe that one guy deserves to play over another, or the new QB simply comes in and knows what he’s doing and gives off some confidence, then yes you will always be more willing to throw your head up against the wall of the defense for the new guy.

Re: Excited Delirium Over Fields

Plank - you were Olineman, right? In your experience, how can the quarterback impact the play of the Oline? Of course anyone else with significant Oline experience can chime in too (I don't think that includes high school....lol). Getting right to the point, I've said a few times that I believe the...

Re: Excited Delirium Over Fields

For me it's simple: Fields has shown that he can make all the throws with accuracy, and has shown that he can play at a high level in high stress situations against elite competition. If he feels comfortable with the playbook, AND the coaches feel comfortable with him running the offense, then he sh...

Kyle's injury woes here were mostly his back and shoulder right?
Getting a knee injury sucks, but maybe a guy fell on him or something.
(unless of course he went the banned substance route to help recover and his tendons are now like brittle strings)

Re: Who leads the Bears in receiving TDs this year?

Dalton: Graham for 10 (vets tend to use their TE's down in the red zone and Graham still knows how to body position and be "open" against most defenders he tends to face. Foles leaned on him heavy at times.) Fields: Cohen for 6 (There will simply be more designed plays to help slow the gam...

In the trenches Monty will never break from his old style. The difference is when he sees daylight. Monty never had that extra gear because he never learned to run correctly. The way sport science has evolved is crazy. Between gait analysis from a camera evaluation, to a hands on medical check from ...

Re: Interesting article about OTs switching sides

Switching sides is easy if the player has the mental desire to do so. Some guys get it stuck in their head that they can only play one side and that's the side they stay on. Others do a cost analysis and either say they are the best at LG so RG doesn't make sense...or C or one of the two tackles... ...

And his jersey is flying off the shelf. They love them some Tebow in the state of Florida. Well that was an easy prediction... Also, Tebow signed for the vet min, with no guarantees. I think Meyer had him come back to take some media pressure off Lawrence as much as to do a solid for his friend. Bu...

Looks like if Borom wins the job and Ifedi is a camp casualty, the Bears will save 2mil. Might be enough to pick up another DB or WR before the season starts, or plug a need from any injury we sustain.

TBH, Packers can't do anything until June 1 ($31M cap hit vs. $14.M cap hit). I mean, I don't think they will trade him, but in a trade the post/pre June 1 designation is minimal. But yea, they're cap situation is pretty bad looking. 17 mil cap space swing. from -1.2 mil if curt traded before june ...

Re: I'm dying to hear from you all on these late rounders

Graham was ranked 76th overall by PFF for all that's worth, but Herbert and Newsome didn't have a lot production. Seth Williams would have been a nice reliable possession guy and was available at 217.

Ryan leaf was QB2. Dak and Russell Wilson were 3rd rounders. Order of selection means nothing. If team scouts really believe they can develop a QB then go for it.

I'm glad you started this thread. It's been a concern of mine. Personally, I think it's critical for us to trade down in the first, and not necessarily for a QB. We simply have too many needs: OT, QB, CB, Safety, WR, ILB.... Not necessarily in that order. In fact, we have enough needs that I wouldn...

I'm thinking we could trade up with Arizona to ensure getting Jenkins or Darrisaw. I keep seeing one or both getting swiped by the Vikes or Raiders every mock. It would kill me to see both off the board between the Cards and our pick.
