Re: The 2024 starting QB for your Chicago Bears will be...?
The question I have is if you're Kevin Warren, why would you let Poles choose the next HC when he handpicked Flus? Warren didn't hire Poles, so he doesn't have any ties to him. I have doubts about Poles' ability to identify a good HC since quite possibly may have picked the worst HC in Bears histor...

Re: Gordon to keep same resposnibilities this year
I thought Gordon was much more effective on the outside than inside, especially in zone coverage. Hope he proves me wrong but I don't like that he's being asked to focus on nickel at the moment - I'd rather have him focus on being an outside corner instead.

Re: R2 P53: Gervon Dexter Sr., DL - Florida
Meh. I don't see it with this guy at all. Great size but don't see the production. Hope I'm wrong, but I thought this was a reach pick. Why would you use production as a measure for a guy that they clearly drafted based on potential? Makes no sense. It is pretty simple: Intead of drafting Carter, w...

Re: RD2 P56: Tyrique Stevenson, CB - Miami
Would have preferred JMS here instead. I don't think a trade up was necessary for Stevenson, pretty sure he would have been around at 61. Isn't it obvious that Poles and Cunningham and friends had a high level of confidence they had to trade up to get that guy? Trading up is not a pattern for these...

Re: R1 P10: Darnell Wright, OT - Tennessee
I feel like people are sleeping on Wright's upside as well, at least compared to the other OT. I know he doesn't have quite the length of a Broderick Jones and is more developed (47 starts) but he's still a very young guy. He tests well athletically at 330+. We know Poles likes his OL a little lean...

Re: Drafting Skoronski in a trade down
For a FO and coaching staff that has been preaching length and athleticism, I just don't see how Skoronski fits their profile along the OL. I see this as a ploy or distraction a week before the draft, that was probably leaked out by the Bears staff on purpose. Again, that's my theory. It just doesn'...

Olin agrees with that assessment: For whatever that's worth. Exactly. This is the same guy who's been telling us to pay no attention to Mustipher's measurables. The difference is Kreutz was/is actively training Mustipher, so he will naturally be slightly biased. I haven't heard any connection betwe...

Re: Any Players You'd Scream
Pretty much just Johnston for me, he's Kevin White 2.0, IMO. If they take Skoronski, I'd hold judgment until I hear what the plan is for him. If they move him to LG, where does that leave Jenkins? Wouldn't be thrilled drafting a Guard at 9.

True or False: Bears draft Skoronski at 9, move him to LG and trade Teven Jenkins? There's something about Jenkins that this regime just doesn't like IMO.

Re: WR in the 2023 Draft
My guy in this draft at WR is JSN. I think he gives us something we clearly don't have, a mismatch in the slot. He could have a Cooper Kupp-like impact IMO. I think he'd be the ideal fit for what we need right now and complements Claypool and Mooney much better. The problem is, where do you draft hi...

Re: 2023 NFL Draft: Jalen Carter
Right now, after Carter's disappearing act in the Bowl game against Ohio State, I'd much rather pay Daron Payne and get a proven commodity at DT instead of gambling on Carter. His conditioning scares me now. There were several times in that Bowl game where he was on the sideline watching on key down...

If Payne is available in FA, I'd load up and give him a hefty deal to come here. He's a perfect fit for this defense and is still only 26 years old.

Re: 2023 Draft Sims
First one of the year. I traded from 2 to 3 so DET could take Bryce Young plus picked up their 13 and a later pick. Then traded 13 to DAL for 27, their 2nd, and a late round pick. Decided that was enough trading down and netted this on PFN! 3. Jalen Carter DT Georgia *trade 29. Jaxon Smith-Njigba W...

Re: Bears currently projected to pick 3rd
I'm just curious how most of you are thinking going into the draft next year. It's tough not knowing what they do in FA, but assuming we end up with the #2 pick - if you're Ryan Poles and Houston takes Bryce Young #1 overall - which of the below scenarios would you choose from, if you were him: A. T...

Re: 2023 Draft Sims
wab does have a point re: Smith, his profile doesn't really fit the Flus/Lovie Cover 2 scheme. But one thing I do see that Smith excels at is explosiveness even though he's listed at 336, which is a trait that I believe Poles and Flus covet at all positions they're scouting. I think he'd pair well w...

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Speculation
I'm not all that eager to deal him, actually. For one thing, he's unlikely to garner jack. A lot of fans still wildly overrate him and how he's viewed around the league. Secondly, even though it's not hard or expensive to find someone to replace what he does - that guy isn't on the roster right now...

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Speculation
I would absolutely be in favor of trading Monty. We better not pay or extend him and if we can get something for him, by all means, do it. RB is the most fungible position in all of football. The fact that we have Khalil Herbert, who was drafted in the 6th round performing at or above Monty should b...

I'd like to preface this by saying I do admire Roquan the player on the field and what he was able to accomplish while he was in Chicago. However, I don't think he fit the athletic profile of the type of players Flus wants on the team. He has stated before that he prefers athletes that are big, long...
