Re: Kyle Long on the Jenkins and Wright

Full disclosure: I've known Mori for quite a long time, dating back to our KFFL days. Mori and I disagree. A lot. His Bears takes are unforgiving of mistakes and as a result likely appear negative. He's also laser-focused on money and cap issues (while I often consider those in broad strokes I don'...

Re: Draft Season is Already Upon Us

Odunze doesn't separate particularly well, which suggests he doesn't have great burst; but he makes up for that by winning more than his share of contested balls. Good ball skills, good routes, probably just-good-enough speed. Ooof, he's not Tyrique Hill, but you're selling him way short with the &...

Re: Draft Season is Already Upon Us

Okay, it's been nearly a month since I contributed many of my draft opinions no one really cares about. That ends today. Sorry, everyone. I've said before that I like MHJ a lot, and I think he's going to be an excellent pro. There's no question about his talent or his competitiveness. Plus, NFL bloo...

Re: Kyle Long on the Jenkins and Wright

I don't care about tension, but I do care about 20 starts in 46 games (25/51 if he makes it through the end of this one). Even if you're generous enough to throw out year one, that's still 18/29 (23/34). That ain't good. That would obviously impact the price. If Jenkins wants paid like you get 17 g...

Didn't take time to reread the whole thing, but I'd be willing to bet that we had many optimistic post about him. That didn't age well. Much like most of our optimistic post. Honestly (i'm a freak and read through most of this), generally people were very cool on the Getsy hire and it feels like we...

Re: Have the Bears actually improved as the season has played out?

<Bieniemy> has been passed over as a HC several times. Some claim it's because he doens't have the personality to hold the locker room together and run a team (no idea if true was just in a piece I saw about him becoming our HC). Bienemy has had legal issues stemming back to his days as a player at...

This is why I’ve been saying that it makes sense to move on from Fields purely for economic reasons. He’s still an unknown. And he’s about to become an expensive unknown. You can get a cheaper unknown in the draft. This is not my preferred path, but you can’t deny that it makes sense from purely a ...

Great call Who wants to start claiming that Bo Nix has moxie? I mean, out of everyone in this draft I'm kind of leaning Jayden Daniels, so Daniels makes sense to me. I've seen some people who have Daniels higher than Maye. I don't know that I'm willing to go that far, but I do like Daniels as a hig...

Only one of them has hated Fields from jump, and it ain't Rusty.

It's a little on the selfish side, but 1. it has become the norm in FCS games and (largely a consequence of the first) and 2. At the risk of derailing the thread further: the non-PI was almost certainly a make-up call for the BS unnecessary roughness penalty.

Which does not make either one right.

Foreman has been our best runing back, suprised so many of ya'll have no interest in retaining him. Yeah, I do see some potential at C (though Cushenberry would be my target there before Biadasz or Williams; I'd be fine with Williams as a second option in the FA market, but I suspect some team will have him #1).

WR and DE nearly always suck in free agency. It's why you have to draft them.

I dunno, that (lone) pick that Ewers threw was Glennon-esque.

The rest of his game was fine, mind you.

Ewers has promise. He's so skinny, tho. Like one good hit could break him in two.

He was a development prospect who hasn't developed. He's on a rookie deal so he'll probably be back for camp next year but I'll be surprised if he makes the roster. Yeah. It seems the Bears are trying Dexter at 3T and Pickens at 0 and 1T. Pickens is a bit smaller and lighter, don't know why they're not trying him at 3T.
I've said this from the beginning: Dexter should be the 1T and Pickens the 3T.

You think this is maddening, wait'll we draft Caleb Williams If he's our QB, I'll support him with gusto. Because I root for the Bears. For nearly all players, I'm on board with this sentiment. United Center is pretty easy to get to via mass transit. To me, anyway, it's better than $25 to park. But I'm cheap, I mean frugal and cost-conscious. :D

If there's a drawback to the UC, it's the lack of decent dining options nearby. (I work right across the expressway from there.)

There are a lot of people, including plenty inside the NFL, who think that any QB who doesn't play the game like Peyton Manning isn't worth keeping around. Fields isn't that type of QB and almost certainly never will be. By that measure, that means he isn't worth keeping around. This has been a wei...

It's really something. Folks just can't stop themselves. Twisting, contorting, moving goal posts, blatantly not understanding basic facts then positing some negative thought stream about Fields based on a completely false premise. It's all just so weird. This is what we mean when we say folks are g...
