Re: Bears Announce Full Coaching Staff
I get the feeling Randle-El is on the track to become an OC in a year or 2.
It's possible, although he officially has an assistant head coach designation, so a promotion for him would be to head coach.
I doubt the Bears would stop him from jumping to a coordinator job if he wanted, but I ...

I mean overate him in terms of what picks people think he’ll fetch in a trade.
He’s no doubt talented, but I’ve seen people throw out R2 or R3 picks as compensation for him.
All teams' fans overrated their players (and underrate other teams' players) to some extent.
It's why Bears fans ...

NFL bloodlines usually help a player. (There are exceptions, of course.)
Trapilo isn't the physical mold I look for in an offensive tackle, but he's a Bear now and I want him to succeed. Seeming to be a good guy makes me want to root for him all the more.

Regarding A&M specifically: Jimbo Fisher was not a very good coach, but I think Mike Ehlo is terrific, and I expect to see significant improvement in Aggie prospects in the coming years.

Draft gurus? Anyone on that list have a roster shot?
I like Walker and Carlton. I though they both were 5th round guys.
And Tysheem Johnson has a legit chance to start in a year.
I agree about Carlton (more of a late-round flyer type, so the kind of guy I'd expect to be targeted in UDFA ...

Y'all know how much he despises Poles.
If things go the way he predicts it'll be Poles' fault.
If things go well it'll be because of Johnson and Poles won't deserve any credit.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Some good quotes here about the Bears' draft, from other NFL teams: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6327490/2025/05/02/nfl-draft-2025-nfc-teams-giants-bears/
It wasn't universal praise - this one wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement:

Re: R2 P39: Luther Burden III, WR - Mizzou
Burden is the one player the Bears took in this draft that should be considered underdrafted.
Burden came into the 2024 season considered a first-round pick. His 2024 season wasn't as impressive as his 2023 season (which was stellar), but he's the same prospect he was coming into the season.

Sounds like they gave Power Echols a pretty significant amount of guaranteed money (as far as UDFA money goes). He's slow, and small with marginal instincts, but they clearly see something in him.
I don't get this new 5'11 LB thing they are doing though.
Power may be short, but at least he ...
