Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Man, with seemingly everyone excited about gervon dexter going into year two, i just refuse to entertain DT being our other first round pick, or even 3T being some kind of priority. Drafting another DT high would seem to indicate they've soured on either Dexter or Pickens after just one year. That ...

You never have enough CBs. I'm not advocating drafting one at #1 (obviously) or #9, but wouldn't object nearly anywhere else. CB play is volatile and injuries happen all the time.

https://x.com/ImBearingDown/status/1781671220137590946 GOD I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. I know a bunch of Al Davis's in here would rather draft Darrius Heyward-Bey... sorry, I mean Malik Nabers. I won't say I don't still harbor some reservations, because that would be a lie.

That said, if a different approach to the game can be overblown, old-school football guys will find a way to do so.

Re: Vikings make Texans draft trade, targeting move into top 5?

No harm in seeing what the market will bear. You might land a Carolina-level trade.

Of course, teams always demand a high price, until push comes to shove and the market isn't what they hoped. And then suddenly they don't.

Latu is my favorite defensive player in the draft by a wide margin. But I'm honestly not interested in taking on an injury risk. If Turner is off the table and the Bears are targeting a DE, I'm fine with Verse. I like Latu a lot. I just don't expect that the Bears' medical team is comfortable with ...

Moving up to #5 is going to cost next year's #1 and #3, and maybe another pick.

I wouldn't be thrilled with moving up, even for MHJ.

I agree that there's WR available later that should be good. I'd just feel better if we were like Green Bay was last year at identifying them. Re: Different trade scenario

It sounds like Ryan Poles understands how important the lines are and some of us here do not. The arguments for taking a WR for the Bears second pick do not hold water. If he doesn't trade down, I foresee a QB, two linemen and then perhaps a WR. I bet you, Bearfacts, that Poles takes two linemen be...

Re: New Bears numbers, so far

I concur that Allen is a one-off. He won't be worth more than a 5th round comp pick, though, because he's a ten-year veteran and that's where those max out. Players who have ten or more accrued seasons may only yield a maximum of a 5th round compensatory pick, even if their actual value would other...

Interesting prospect stories

One of the reasons I love Dane Brugler's Beast is the history he does on prospects. I really enjoy learning some of where the guys came from on their way to becoming draft prospects. The best story I learned this year was that of Rutgers DB Trevor Yeboah-Kodie , who played RB in high school and then...

We know the Bears loved Avila last year, so it's not wild to assume they like Frazier this year. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2023/2/16/23603133/chicago-bears-nfl-draft-2023-doing-plenty-of-work-tcu-steve-...

I think Fuaga would be an. All-Pro guard next to Darnell Wright. I do not see him as a standout at T on either side, personally. Like most things, YMMV.

Legette's story is more complicated than his stats. He's had coaches convert him to RB and a running QB when they needed him, and he's had coaches leave after they recruited him. It took him awhile to find enough stability to allow him to succeed. It's definitely an interesting history. The guy did...
