Re: Trevis Gipson

I viewed him as a similar player to KGB (would mess up name if tried to spell it) for Packers back in the day. Situational pass rusher that could be good in certain situations. He’s not a starter but can contribute.

Re: Update: Ed Dodds withdraws from Bears GM consideration

He interested me a lot. Abrasive can mean a lot of things but at end of day none of us know. He’s well regarded but has backed out of a few positions. Concerning of course but who knows why? Devils Advocate I turned down a promotion opportunity for many years across companies because I didn’t believ...

Well I never been to Spain but I kind of like the music.

Saddest thing from Cutler on is we’ve never prioritized OL. Many other issues too over years but lot of duct tape and bubble gum in our approach.

Re: GM Candidate: Louis Riddick, ESPN Analys

There’s so much revisionist or hindsight on Mitch as far as I’m concerned. I know at some point he was one in a lot of mocks. I remember Mahomes in the discussion late but he was the guy that seemed like he rose during combine. Wasn’t on my 1st round radar if I’m honest, though I never looked at any...

Re: 2022 Salary Cap Outlook, v2 (PostPace)

My two cents is we trade down like crazy for depth. Spend money on value WR and D options. 2022 isn’t our year, but we can get pieces on O for long term and maybe a few on D. Quinn, Mack, and Roq with others can keep D going enough to keep fans in the seats. Get finances and contracts to move right ...

Re: GM Candidate: Louis Riddick, ESPN Analyst

Funny I actually mentioned Gannon type career for Mitch to a buddy not too long ago. Agree with the points on Riddick and Mitch as well. Maybe it’s hindsight but I hadn’t really thought of Leaf anywhere close to Manning, just that Leaf was likely to be 2nd since he was a QB. I like Polian but never ...

Re: "A Coach with Experience Developing a Young Quarterback"

Lot of good points. I agree that putting the QB in the best situation: playing to strengths, giving weapons, giving protection, good run game, defense that's at least at a level where they don't have to win every game single-handedly, etc. is key in developing and situations where a QB has that ofte...

Sounds like it was more Heistand, who has mutual respect with Olin, made the inquiry than him looking to get in to hear him tell it. But he also hates Juan Castillo so there’s that

Agreed. Did good with his first round picks but as far as non-first rounders of note all I see is the brief flash of Steve Slayton.

Yeah. Not necessarily the problem, but appears to have righted it at the end and seemed to be key in Allen’s development. I find him intriguing as he’s not a one year wonder per se, but was under more than one coaching tree: Bellichek, Reid, Rivera/Lovie by extension, and probably more which is some...

Re: Chicago Bears fire HC Matt Nagy & GM Ryan Pace

The Bears were one of the first teams to name a black starting QB (Vince Evans) as well as one of the early teams to name a black head coach (Lovie Smith). Why do they need a D&I VP to help pick their next coach or GM again? They've got a D&I rep to make sure the process is fair and imparti...

I love Olin and some of his takes are spot on. Some, like any other player, is off. He also said all the former players talk to the McCaskeys and they listen and agree but don’t do anything. I guess when he inferred he had talked to them it didn’t happen. If George just said grain of salt and nothin...

Well... Schneider has only kept half of his R1 picks since being hired and used those to reach for guys like James Carpenter, Germain Ifedi, LJ Collier, Jordyn Brooks, and Rashaad Penny. Decent enough players, but all considered reaches at the time. Having said that, he IS phenomenal in the mid-lat...

Re: Both Zimmer and Spielman (GM) fired in Minny

Spielman fired is surprising. Agree. He built a rock solid roster. Drafted well and always seemed to have double digit picks. Cousins contract only negative but it’s not like he’s a bad QB or prevented them from moves like Patrick Peterson. I’ll say it right now, I would be very happy with Spielman...

FWIW Charlie Weiss was on Sirius and said a Raider told Eckler they were just going to run it out and take the tie until the time out by Chargers.

No. Two rookie OT we don’t have much film on. Mustipher sucks at C. Daniels has been shockingly meh considering his pedigree. Whitehair is an enigma since he moved back to his natural position.

Re: Packers Conspiracy, with Plank and Rich.

Good teams get the benefit of calls. But to say clearly calling it wrong is just whining by bad teams isn’t a good argument. Refs don’t lose games, but they can swing momentum or in a game of inches be the difference since a lot of games come down to one play. You kick the crap out of a team you win...
